Panther purchased by ABF?

The thing about profit and loss sheets is you never know what is real numbers. 43 million could be charge offs or an actual hard money loss.

In today's 4 part fleet message concerning the sale, installment #1 hit the high points of being owned by ABF. One of these was: "Shedding A Big Debt Load." I don't know who Panther is into for this, but my guess would be the Fenway Boys. I'm also guessing that as part of the deal ABF will incur this debt.

When the dust settles it will be interesting to see the final numbers, provided someone can simplify them for me to comprehend. Go Razorbacks!

Seems theyve managed to wrangle and untangle the Big Black Cat but time will tell what happens from now forward, Ive read so many bad things, but who to believe, I think they might be better positioned with the ABF networks, and freight, so good luck moving forward all you Panthers...

Can a converter dolly be attached to a straight truck or cargo van?

What did parts 2, 3 and 4 say?

Pretty much a continuation of what part 1 said, more spoon fed crap from the ABF PR department. I have neither the interest or ambition to type four QC installments of Panther's ramblings on this subject. It took the Panther guy 41 minutes to send all 4 parts of this message. Either he is a slow typist or he choked on some of the gushing comments. Look up any corporate purchase synopsis written by a PR puke. They all read the same. Same buzz words:

Outstanding history of customer service.
Great.
Dedicated employees.
Top notch management team.
Orgasmic.
Access to a great number of resources.
Excited.
Proud.
Business as usual.
Huge erection.
All of us in management will remain on board.
Growth potential.
Respected.
Nothing changes.

Typical corporate speak. The only part that has me confused is the: "Nothing Changes." If nothing changes, how do they account for all the other platitudes? I am happy to see Panther break free of the Fenway Boys. I just get tired of all the b.s.

Speaking of b.s., I have yet to see a statement by the IBT regarding ABF's purchase of Panther.

Admit it, you thought parts 2,3, and 4 were load offers and turned them down.
lol i think it will be a good deal. Look how fedex did when they bought roberts. Maybe some if the rift-rafters will be weeded out. Give it 6-12 months like it did whenn fenway came in.

Let my think...my spidey senses are tingling. I see possible unionization.....and ABF possibly putting expedite loads on their trucks meaning shorter miles for the expedite driver. Not sure how this will pan out but a month or two will tell.

You can't unionize independent contractors. As far as ABF doing expedite, they do that already.
I don't see exclusive use loads going on pups.
But one never knows, look at what happened at the Fed.

True you can't unionize independent contractors but I believe ABF is. Guess its a wait and see how this goes.

Not going to happen. Not now and most likely not in the near future. FedEx can do it very well for packages. For heavy freight? They turn to Custom Critical.

That is true. ABF and the Fed have very different business models.

Looks like they have a new source for those expedite moves.

I read what Mr Clark said, lots of no's on no changes, hmmm, u all thinking what I'm thinking, I'm going out now and have some of that Koolaid stuff, I think Mr. Cooper said that once. Now where is my Jack D.

With just a little bit of tweaking we can turn your quote into a genuine IBT press release: ABF possibly putting LTL loads on Panther trucks meaning shorter miles for our union members.
