Panther Pro Scan

Has anybody used Panther's new TripPak scanning service? I have a pro and b.o.l. from Friday. I waited until I got home to download and print the cover sheet.

Does TripPak provide confirmation of a successful scan?

If a truckstop has a TripPak drop box do they also provide the scanning service?

Who or what is Transflo Express?

Can I scan from my home p.c. and scanner? Where do I send the scan?

From what I read under FAQ's on the Panther site, Flying J is the only truck stop we cannot scan from.

If not on paperless logs, you have to scan your logs through the truck stop but anything else you can scan from your PC or Laptop. You can find the email address on the Panther website to send your scans too.

I don't know what TransFlo Express is.

Hope this helps!

The truck stop does provide a confirmation. After looking at the transflo website it looks like they are located mostly at Pilot and Loves' T/S. Transflo is owned by pegasus transtech www.transflo.com. I really like the idea that the p/w is turned in instantly. And you don't have to pay for copies anymore. Just keep the originals.

Suppose to be at all trk stops that have trippak except flying j.Had a driver use a Loves to scan, did it without cover sheet. You need to give them Panthers code PTWT and they will give you some kinda confirmation,i don't mind something new that is less paperwork it would be nice to also have a mail in option.I think waiting in line at a fuel desk to send my paperwork in cause be a bit frustating.

Well I thought that Panther would charge something.

"It will be a lot better then standing in a line to send paperwork or looking for a TripPak."

Huh? who stands in line?

You can either do the TripPak or TransFlo scanning at the truck stop, drop off the paperwork in person, or scan it using your own scanner in the truck or at home and then e-mail it directly to Panther. I've got an all-in-one in the truck so I usually just scan it and e-mail it. But, I generally only have net access at the J, so when I'm in a place with no Flying J and don't have net access some other place, I'll scan it at the truck stop.

I wonder why no Trip Pack scanning at the Flying J. Odd.

I was told not to drop in the trip pak box, only scan from your computer or if you don't have one you have to stand in line at the fuel desk. Will be interesting to see if the ones my driver scanned pay out cause he didn't use a coversheet.

I have scanned about 8 pros all without coversheets and the drivers web said they had all been recieved...did 1 scan from the TA in canada...and 1 from a petro along with fuel tickets. it was all very quick and easy and actually took less time to do the scanning and the "waiting" in line than it did to fill out the trippak envelope and stuff it and walk to the box.
after they are scanned you recieve a little sticker for each individual scan as a confirmation, then i just staple that to the paperwork. done deal. good switch, i really like it.

Jer & Tina,

Do you actually tape your fuel receipts to the cover sheet or do you just have them scanned separately?

i haven't used a coversheet yet...just wrote our truck# on it and had them scanned seperatley...it's been a few days and I haven't rec'vd a call telling me not to do it that way...so I suppose it's OK.
I used some of that tape that TA uses at the register when you buy something to tape a fax receipt to the fax confirmation page along with the pro and bol. every things going smooth so far...also on EVERY sheet i have scanned i write the pro#/truck# at the top...that way they don't have any problems discerning which page is for which pro.

Thanks for the info. I think I will follow your way of doing things, with the truck and pro #'s. Sounds like it is working for you!

Thanks again and be safe!!

TransFlo is the one we are using.....not trip pak scan. Transflo are located at all Loves and pilot's plus a few independents. You can find a list of locations at http://www.transfloexpress.com/truckstops.asp.

You can scan 6 pro's with one cover sheet....it is very fast and you get a printout when finished that gives you a confirmation number.

ps...moot supposedly can still scan from home and send in email to [email protected] It is my understanding that using Transflo is the preferred method due to the fact that 40% of the images scanned into pc's were unreadable in payroll...hence why we went to using Transflo.

Now that we have that solved maybe we can solve some of the other 'little details' - like losing the spot on the board when you turn a load down dispatched 8-24 hours in advance, getting a faster response to QC inquires on our load position, improving the phone system where maybe the drivers do not share the same call in line that the customers use. I know if I was a customer and I had to wait that would be upsetting to me and I know it irks me I have to wait for the customer to get his/her questions answered. There is room for improvement here.

yea that qc thing is really getting to me. I waited up to 2 hours the several times over the past few weeks for everything to directions that didnt come over automatically (practicals) to whether I had the correct frieght...someones been signing off on the qc msg's without answering them.

We scanned our logs and emailed our loads, but they didn't show as received. What part of this system wasn't working before the email or the faxes? Is someone checking the email? What is the deadline, if we email our load in at 0900 on Monday will it be on the next settlement(two weeks of course)? I emailed panther asking some of this, but got few answers. I guess this is why we got the call a few weeks ago asking who has a scanner and such in the truck, but what about software? If I didn't have Acrobat I couldn't email my loads it would be to large a file, thank goodness for p2p programs like Limewire. Anyone need a copy? ha ha, not kidding. Anyway, change is bad, bad, bad at this rate we will all be organized and getting more work than we can handle; even getting paid for it in a timely matter; then what paid vacations we must stop it now!!!

Mabe customers do call in on a different line, I will not question that, you might be right, you might be wrong. If that is the case then how come when the drivers call in we hear "We appreciate your business and we will be right with you, etc etc...the whole sales pitch thing we would want a customer to hear.......listen I believe that Panther is a great company to be with and I have no problem being with them at all - but as I said improvement is an endless thing and the one thing we need to improve is the communication and technical resources a driver can have DIRECT ACCESS to instead of waiting on hold for some dispatcher to answer our needs. We should not have to rely on the dispatchers/phone operators etc to do some of the stuff we could do ourselfs, and do quicker which would make us all better and profitable.
