They're just trying to get us more runs from the West Coast basically. I think the bottom line is, no one wants to run out there, so they're finally concentrating on getting us some backhauls.

Panther needs to start Hiring more Sales Force east of Mississippi. Nobody wants to run anywhere east of there because you sit and have miles of deadhead if you dont. (But mostlikely you will Dead Head the miles to get back into a Freight Aera if you want a load!)

I would think they mean west of the Mississippi. Return frieght from the west tends to be seasonal if just looking at expedite only loads.

Running the west coast would be sweet if you could get return frieght. I'd much rather run west of the mississppi than i would east of it. Frieght just isn't that great for expedite over here though. I think in 10 years expedite will be more of a 48 state operation than it is now. Especially as all these companies are focusing less energy on the auto industry and looking at other industries to get frieght from.

My friend that lives down the street is leased on to panther in an e unit and he stays busy. What he does is utilize the fact that let you book your own loads. If he gets a run like he picked up last night in Detroit for monday in Salt Lake City we start looking for him a load out while he's on his way. I found him a load to pick up going to Chicago that will pay his truck 1.73 after Panther takes thier cut. He's getting 2 and some change going out there with fsc included. Then once he gets to Chicago and unloads he'll wait for an expedite for a lil while if he doesn't get one he'll call me and tell me to start looking. This summer if everything works out with my medicine I'm gonna run team with him while I'm outta school so we can both make a lil extra. Everyone has thier own way of doing things, and that's his. He's making pretty good doing it to. The good thing for me is he gives me some cash for finding the loads.:)
