Owner Op Pay

As a fairly new owner operator I have alot to learn. But one thing I dont understand is why are company drivers getting paid more while the owner operators pay remains the same. Where are all the good paying owner op jobs? I can't seem to find anything that pays over 1.00 cpm. With fuel prices its hard to pull for less than 1.30 cpm+ fuel.

I work as a dispather when im home. today I loaded a 53' van for the next week I got him $4,350 to the truck he will have to run a little over 2700 miles as a solo driver. that worked out to a little over $1.60 for all miles he will put on the truck he left out at 7 am today and will finish at 8 am next thursday.and he will have 48 hours at home over the weekend

That sounds pretty good. Does that include a fuel surcharge? I have also found that companies that pay more on the cpm don't pay for plates, permits, and fuel taxes. Of course, I have been running into problems with not having my own trailer too. Do they provide trailers? Any cost?

I dont get paid to refer people so I have no reason to blow smoke
and just keep in mind we have no slow season.
