There are many reasons people go out of service, truck repair, vacation, but this month i'm out on a medical. It really sucks haveing to be out of service in a busy month,my first week was 7000 bucks. Now you ask why i'm out.Monday Sept 2,Dr.appointment for my quarterly check up,Sept 3rd measured for contact lens to be put in place of the lens messed up with left eye cateract,Fri Sept.5th,evaluation so my Dr can say it is ok to have the surgery,Sept 10th left eye cateract being removed, sept 11th back to eye clinic to make sure he didnt screw up,Sept 24th right eye being done, and 25th back to clinic for right eye check up,and if all goes well back to work on the 29th Sept. Not sure you can call this a vacation, and I know this sitting around sucks so I dont think will be retiring very soon,.Did give it a thought, till now.

Be sure to take it easy while recovering, even though you say you don't do well sitting around. A friend of ours had routine cateract work done and all was well until he got restless. He started working in the garage harder than he should have and nearly lost his sight, not to mention MONTHS of additional down time to recover from the complicated circumstances.

Your job now is to be as good a patient as you are a truck driver. Your work is recovery, not driving. Go to work every day and do your reecovery job well.

Steve: before the surgery, practice deep calming breaths, and a new mantra: millions of folks have done this before, and were just fine, and I will be too.
After the surgery, do as Phil says: recover. No shortcuts, either - take the time to be 100% before going back to work!
And don't forget to keep us posted - when you can, ok? :)

One thing that worked for me :
Take a rubber squeeze ball with you , and focus all of the attention to it .

now Please don't ask me how can a moose use a squeeze ball ...

Hi Steve. I met you up at the outing at FedEx and we talked drag racing. I hope everything goes ok with your surgery. Just make sure you take it easy during the recovery period.

Steve,

I wish you a speedy but safe recovery in your upcoming surgery. Try to relax and enjoy your time off, after you have healed properly you will have plenty of time to get back to the road and doing what you enjoy.

good luck, hope all goes well. if you are prone to any kind of infections, or get them reletively easy especially sinus let the doc know b4 surgery. there is a shot he can give to offset the chances. my mother, although she is 78 had this done but did get an infection in the first eye but got the shot b4 the second was done and had no problems. she is much better as i am sure you will be also. once again take it easy. Be careful....Slow and easy....

Praying for you.

We also will add you to our prayer list.

Mat 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Our God is able.

Buddha couldn't cure a ham.
