I'm thoroughly, utterly, and completely confused over the outrage aimed at a reporter who got drunk, rather than the EMTs who sued for $1 million [each!] when the drunk tried to bite them.
Reporters have a long & colorful tradition of drinking when on overseas assignments, and while this one did get seriously "overserved", she did apologize afterward, most sincerely.
I am disgusted that the EMTs would try to cash in on the celebrity status of the reporter, and/or the deep pockets of her employer. Or is filing lawsuits something they normally do when their job involves subduing a violent drunk?
I've battled my share of them, on the job, and it never occurred to me to sue them for attempting to bite me. When you're a professional, it's just another day at the office.
PS Anyone else finding the Yahoo links posted never work?
