We're hoping things pick up soon.
Oh A wise guy ay?........ Yes im in A straight. If you go to my profile page you will see a pic of it but I think you might of seen it in the warehouse when you were there.
True story from a couple nights ago:
A friend picked up a load in Dalton, GA going to Marysville, OH ... on I-75 up around Florence, KY he heard a loud bang like an explosion and sees the alternator light is on... whips the truck (Sprinter) into the Pilot and opens the hood to check it out and the serpentine belt is lying on top of the motor and the belt tensioner is missing it's pulley ...
After pulling it over under the lights, next to the fuel pumps, he determines that not only is the pulling missing but the piece that it's connected to is also gone (IOW the tensioner separated and came apart)
It was 19F degrees when he started (and 17F degrees when he finished), and it took him 2 1/2 hours (he is somewhat handicapped), but he replaced the tensioner - belt was actually ok.
Both the belt and the belt tensioner were relatively new.
Long story short: the load was delivered on time and the customer was happy, no service failure and no load revenue was lost ... and he didn't have to pay $750 to $1000 to a stealership to have his vehicle repaired ...
If you knew the full story you'd be amazed ... (Turtle knows the individual that I referred to - and his story)A very beautiful story. I wept aloud at the part where you mentioned he was handicapped.
Nope - it wasn't intended to be that at all ... it was simply to point out that can be a variety of consequences (some fairly significant) to mechanical failures on the road ...I'm assuming this is some sort of stab at the fact that I didn't fix the tensioner in the van we drive?
i dont mean to bring conversation to a thud..but been driving for 33 years tractor trailer..looking to get into straight truck or the sprinters..will be living in port huron, mich in middle march. tried talking to blog writers but no answers. how or what do you have to do to get on with reputable company for a solo driver?? any help would be greatly [email protected]Have to agree. Looking at that deadhead and where you are deadheading to, those are major concerns. I see both running in the red.

I have read your previous posts under the name BadLuckChuck and now Dedic8edDave and must ask this question: Does you fleet owner have any experience with C&M and Sprinters? I don't know much about C&M or their customer base, in fact I didn't even know they ran cargo vans until you posted. I don't believe I'd ever seen a C&M cargo van until early this morning when I saw a C&M Sprinter at the Flying J in South Beloit. Was that you? If not, don't take a relocate to North central Illinois. They got that area covered.

I've experienced a lot of dispatchers, and none can beat the crew at C&M.
You're sitting way too long in the Detroit area. I would talk to Dan, Cal, Mike, or Julie, and find out where freight is hopping, then head there. Just my opinion.
