Click here to order a free New York City truck route map. The map is online too, broken into an upper section and lower section. We have this map in our truck. It is a good resource for any truck driver going into the city. Click here for information about operating a commercial vehicle in New York City.

Just ordered my map. Thanks for the link, Phil. I wonder if having this map will somehow make going to New York not vigorously blow?

Thank's for the link to the map Phil,it should be a great help in navagating the city.
We allready had a great map for NYC (Hagstroms 5 borough map in large print) that we have had for about 2 years that has been a God send for getting around, but it wasn't truck specific.DD.

(DDX2,we don't mind doing NYC if the pay is good.)

I delivered in LI two Sundays ago and the headed for my next p/u over west of Philly - took 495 and the tunnel and then drove thru Manhattan about 10:30 AM .... wasn't really bad at all ..... just lots of pedestrian targets scurrying about .....

I'd imagine weekdays could be a bit uglier tho' ......

Thanks Phil.

I have never topped a trailer. I did get one all tangled up with pine garland While passing under the main gate of a Catholic women's college. It was after Christmas and the custodian told me to go ahead and tear it down. Saved him from climbing a ladder and taking it down.

I once had a large stainless steel dewer full of liquid helium break loose in a trailer, tip over and leak. This resulted in the closing of a 2 block stretch of 2nd avenue in Minneapolis, a main entrance to I-35W for about 4 hours. Very embarrassing! One of the local TV news crews was there filming. That was my 15 minutes of Warhol Fame. Since embracing the mundane, I lead a low key life.

A few years ago, a guy I knew in Green Bay, was walking down the street when a truck caught a banner that was attached between 2 telephone poles. The cable holding the banner broke one pole and the telephone pole landed on the guy.

I had something similar to that happen to me. I lost a load of steel east of Dallas on I-30 one Monday morning during rush hour. Right on the bridge just past the TA in Rockwall. Everyone there hated me. I felt like crap. But you know what? You live and learn. I learned more from that one mistake than I did from all the other loads I delivered mistake free.
