SO I called today and asked why they have not tried fighting for the rights of truckers going to the ports with a 2006 or older truck. The answer is we can't since it is a EPA law. Ok so if any trucks entering the port must be 2006 or newer and carb compliant. Now are the ports going to force cv / sprinters or cubes to be 2006 or newer as well ?
This has a good and bad side I don't do the ports often because of all the headaches involved with port pickup and deliveries. But this may make port freight go up in rate since you must have a newer or carb modified truck. and also this will also clean out allot of the non english speaking cheap port haulers also.
But my complaint is why I should have to spend $5000 or more to prep my truck to get cargo.
Well goes to show global warming is fixed with the warmest winter in history so far that I can remember.
BTW have any of you been behind a truck when that regen of emissions starts OMG that is a eye burning nasty smell and terrible. And I am saying that stuff is not good for the atmosphere.
Ok my rant is over LOL
