The old ways of Expedite are a thing of the Past.

Best bout be listening, Forget what was once as it's now a thing of the Past. Smoke and Mirrors get my drift.

New rules hey it's tough out here.

Ya just got to be tougher and Rougher.

But then again Eating Cold Peas and Potatoes for Breakfast is just plain Enjoyment. Right!! Rather take an MRE from a Marine more filling. Like taking candy from a baby. LOL

Well it's Work out time since no Job. (Push Up's & 10K run for fun)

The only time U got a job is when ya got a load. If no Load then your truly unemployed, No KIDDING.

Ontario CA.

Henny Youngman is an expediter?

A bum asked me, "Give me $10 till payday." I asked, "When's payday?" He said, "I don't know, you're the one who is working!"

A bum came up to me saying, "I haven't eaten in two days!" I said, "You should force yourself!"

Another bum told me, "I haven't tasted food all week." I told him, "Don't worry, it still tastes the same!"

I am not in a panic, I have lived through this before. I can prove it. I am 58. If the last recessions had killed me I would not be 58. I figured that out all by myself. Get a grip. So? You might lose everything. Start over. It won't kill you. If it does kill you, you have nothing more to worry about. It's only money, green wrinkled papar backed by nothing. Not gold or silver. Just plain paper, no real backing. You can find food and shelter without it. People have for a million years or so. If this recession is that hard on you, well, you have just had it too darn easy. Buck up. You will survive. Shoot, you might even be stronger for the experience. You will never achieve your true potential unless you are tested and tested hard. Layoutshooter

OH boy here we go, the pattern of doom and gloom has hit us again.

Get the kids to the shelter ma, Dooms day is upon us.

IRT, don't you work for someone or have you decided to join the ranks of us owners?

Doom and Gloom Wrong answer. Get your decoder ring out. The old ways of yesteryear are gone. So wake up.
If you think about what I said. What we did in 2006 and 2007 sure don't work today. Example if you drop in Reno or Sac don't take the Layover in Reno or Sacramento. Best bet is to run like you know what down 395 or 5 and check into Ontario CA. The times of the Past of Sac or Reno are good as out the door and been gone most of 2008.

Now without getting into a long heated discussion many won't go all the way west. For those that do well each has to figure out things for them selves, Just like I had to.

Plenty of hard Knocks but Doom and Gloom... No!

People appear to be loosing there Trucks right and left.

I just might get one for next to nothing. Now that would be something. They say some benefit from a recession. Maybe for a select few there is truth to that.

You are right IRT, that is how is has always been. Things don't change that is why it is so important to study history. This recession is no different than any other. It is not the end of the world, a major disaster or anything close to one. I don't even like hearing crisis 50 million time per news broadcast. Ever hear the parable of the boy who cried wolf? I can predict with 100% accuracy what is going to happen. The recession will someday end. Most will have muddled through, a few will fail badly and a few will get rich because of it. Layoutshooter

Some of the ones who will go belly-up will be because they jumped into expedite with both feet; buying the biggest, the best, and one of the most expensive trucks they could with everything under the sun on it WITHOUT planning ahead or doing their homework first.
Some will go belly-up because they are poor managers. Some will ge belly-up because they drive older vehicles and can't afford the huge repair bills. Some will go belly-up because they only want to 'cherry pick' loads. The list can go on and on.
The economy and way of life is ALWAYS changing, day-to-day, year-to-year. Gloom & doom? The world coming to an end? I personally think not. Looking back through history, the economy and way of life does take a drastic change from time to time. Everyone needs to rethink how they need to do things now to survive & get through this. Reorganize whatever they need to in their life, finances, etc in order to survive & thrive. We all CAN make it through this IF we want to change some things in our ways of doing things, and attitudes. Alot of us will make it through, and some of us with flying colors, because we're willing to adapt and to change. Personally, I believe that most of how we survive anything life throws at us depends on our attitude & how we want to handle and tackle the issue(s) at hand.
