Actually here is what I would do.
The first thing I would do is tell my wife that if she tells anyone outside of my father, she will not get a dime.
The second thing is I would sign the ticket, take it to the bank and put it in the safe deposit box. Oh and make a couple copies.
The third thing I would do is call my lawyer and accountant. The former would have to figure out the best legal path to follow, the latter would do the same for the taxes and set me up with a wealth advisor. I would also tell my accountant to setup some sort of bill payment service with a major bank so I don't have to worry about the bills, just spend the money to have fun!
The fourth thing would be to find out where I would go, not out of the country but maybe camping in some far away place.
and the fifth would be call the movers to get everything in storage ASAP. once they are done, sign the house over to him to get rid of it and go looking for a motor home.
I figure the motor home financing would take a week (this would be through my father), the movers would be done by then, and I would have met with a wealth advisor and my accountant to determine whether I would take a lump sum or the entire thing (I would most likely end up with the entire thing), and finish up with my lawyer by then too, so I would turn in the ticket maybe three weeks after the drawing.
