America has to much on her plate as we speak. Mid East War, and now a possible war may erupt in Africa somewhere if not all over the place. We can't even speak the names correctly in the M.E. much less somewhere in Africa. This is insane to say the least, just insane.....................way to much on our plate now.

Politics, politics,politics, wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to much.

Obama has a natural kinship with Africa. Being our first African-American president, we should expect him to take a keen interest in making things right for the African continent. After all, the African peoples have been exploited by colonial powers for centuries.

Somewhere in America, there are 1000s of Vietnam vets shaking their heads watching this stupidity happen again.............insane...we cannot win these type of engagements, just like in the Middle East.( we are not fighting yet,but it will come, wait and see)

If one reads the tactics of the Art of War, which you can look up for yourself on YouTube, you will understand why America will never win a war fighting like its WW2, those days are gone.
Why we fight with uniforms on that might as well have a blinking light on the helmet that says here we are is nuts. IMHO, blend in, don't look like us, look like them, simple term ( guerilla warfare) I know they teach guerilla warfare somewhere in America. The next time you watch tv and see our guys walking down the road in Afganistan or wherever, they are loaded down with so much junk it defies the imagination and the noise that that creates is loud. You can see us, smell us , hear us , coming. Just ask an enemy soldier if that's not true...

How many times has the United States gone to war on behalf of an African nation? Not because of an African nation, but on behalf of an African nation?

Hello all,

America now goes to war based on resources...Nothing else matters. It is resources!
Water, Oil, Gas, Minerals, etc.

Not saying I like it at all, but I understand the real reasons :(

Water? In Africa? Oil and gas are not really issues, at least not right now. We have plenty of resources here and buy the majority of the oil/gasoline etc that we buy we buy primarily from Canada. We have natural gas ever where. That is a total non-issue.

Actually we have two drone bases and Army Special Forces bases. One in Kenya, watching pirotes on the coast and Sudan watching Egypt and the suez. They've been there for a couple of years now. As a Viet Nam vet with 3 tours nothing surprises me anymore. They threw away the vets from Korea and Viet Nam and now can't do enough for everyone else. We have an idiot in the W/House and a couple hundred idiots in Congress, it won't get better.

They did throw away vets from that era. As to them doing a lot now, it's all lip service. That zebra has not changed it's spots one little bit. Some of the biggest "entitlement" cuts being talked about is in veterans benefits.
