Even though gas prices are around 3.30unleaded and diesel for 3.65 we are lucky compared to some countries. they are paying around 10$ a gal over there in England. And with the crisis in Lybia, who knows what it is.

But Jeff you seem to forget that taxes make up a large amount of that fuel price and there are hidden taxes involved, so it may be about 66 cents a gallon if everything is removed and it is adjusted to the market price.

Very true. And why are those taxes tacked on?

The government needs that revenue to pay for .......STIMULUS.

I need it to hit about $200 and stay there for at least a year. just think of your FSC

While the fsc in theory keeps the price we pay at the pump stable it doesn't account for the increase in price for everything from tires and repairs to food, socks and underwear. In the last 10 years I have taken a 25% cut in my base rate while the cost of living has risen every year.

some folks out here are not getting loads at 70cpm now, so I guess whatever the price of gas is, if ur not running,,it doesn't matter so to speak.

I can fix the deficit, and fuel prices in one move....ready?

Open the federal reserves, and sell it at 2.00 a gallon, straight to the gov't. Problems solved.

Two guy's and two good reply's. Moot hit it on the head about being more than the cost of fuel. What about everything else we need to operate our business with??
The Fed's, oh my good gracious (nice way to put it) , the leadership of this country are all on drugs. From O'bama on down. It blow's my mind such an idiot can get to the White House, I know he's not the only one but he's definitely the biggest.

OK SO we have two days worth of fuel at 2.00 a gallon and the states will come up with special taxes to capture more money and that will bring it up to $4.23 a gallon.
