Off grid washing machine

Just got back from about 3 weeks on the road. Now I've got a buttload of laundry to do. Has anyone carried an off-grid washer with them, perhaps one of those plungers style ones, and done their laundry on the road that way? It would be great to carry perhaps one week worth of clothes and do laundry on the road that way, rather than carry 3 weeks worth of clothes. Use biodegradable soap, figure out a way to ring excess water from the clothes, and spread bungee cords across the inside of the van and hang them up to dry that way. Has anybody done anything like this?

And a 3k watt inverter should run anything but a air conditioning unit.
Okay, so how about this. The battery Bank of golf cart batteries, charged off of the alternator of the van when it's running. And then the Eco wave or Eco cool whatever it's called for portable air conditioner with an extra battery for that, and they get charged as needed off of the golf cart battery bank. Would that work?

It should, you might want to look at solar panels down the road.
