At home...was near Indy Friday and debating coming home when I got a call that my dad was in the hospital. He had a stroke in his sleep wednesday night/thursday morning. You can't tell it by talking to him or looking at him though. Seems healthy as ever. They're supposed to do whatever it is that they do with the camera via a blood vein to look at his heart tomorrow and a stint if needed. Im headed back to the house tonight. I'll be surprised if dad is still isnt back home by this time tomorrow or tuesday at the latest.

Thanks everybody for the well wishes. I think he is going to be in good shape. But....since my qualifications consist of driving a van...we're waiting for the doctor's opinion

He's in a "heart" hospital with specialists, so we know he has the best available.

Not sure, but something threw the SLOW switch on. Talked to a number of carriers, and everyone suddenly got hit with it and no one knows what happened. UGGGGGHHHHHHHH.

So, you're saying this isn't a great time to be sitting in Florida?

Oh well, the weekend with my granddaughters & their parents was a nice one, anyhow. The chili cookoff in DeLand felt kind of weird, wearing shorts & all, but it was a good time and I'm really glad for the time with them.

When dispatch called Friday just 3 hrs after delivery in Pompano Beach with a load from Miami to Clearwater, I thought it was just an anomaly, lol.
I hated turning it down, but this is my first load to Fla in over a year - my granddaughters just don't understand why I seldom visit them, and I wasn't going to miss the chance.
It's all good.

Thanks again everybody. They pushed the procedure back a few hours today and didnt get dad in until 4pm instead of the 10am that was planned. He got 1 stint and they said everything else looked great. Because of it being later in the day, they are keeping him tonight and probably home tomorrow.
