I'm at the house, it was nice and sunny as well as cool today.Changed the oil and all filters on the van as well as grease it.Changed the fan clutch also, balanced and rotated the tires, and then had dinner and had a real pleasent conversation with Mr. Berry.Real nice guy.Monday I am going to replace the rear rotors and pads, etc and put a crank-up vent on the roof.Other than the need for snow tires, the van should be ready to go for winter.

At the top of Gem Mountain NC!! Spruce Pine NC a half hour ride up a road I wouldn't bring a mule up let alone a jackazz like me!! BUT there IS a Wally World up here! Don't ever come up sr226 to here in a straight job....very narrow road. low trees...very close quarters

Hey OVM, welcome to Appalachia. Things can get interesting once you leave the interstate highway. About the low hanging trees, you can drive for miles under a canopy of trees there. Probably marked as a "non-truck route." Be careful not to make wrong turns and avoid turning around in a private driveway. You're gonna be just fine. Unless the SD plates give you away. *L*

You are correct. Can you fake a Southern accent on demand?

I am reminded Eric Rudolph hid in those mountains for several years evading Federal authorities after he was charged with bombing an abortion clinic. They finally nabbed him rummaging through a trash dumpster searching for food.

Ha-ha-ha...I use that prestone stuff all year long, with Dawn dishwashing soap added to it. The dishwashing soap will actually do so much in the winter. It cuts right through the road grease and grime and chemicals. And it does not streak or freeze. It can get a little bubbly sometimes, though.

I dug in for the day at Panama City Beach. 90 degree temps, found a $5 bill in the pocket of my swim trunks and got a free shower. Life is good!

Ken: Have you ever heard of the "Dragon's Tail", near Robbinsville, NC? A stretch of road 11 miles in length, with 318 curves!!! Quite the "graveyard" for many a vehicle. I think you can find photos on line of folks who didn't make it. Makes where you are look like an interstate.

I know where Ken is and that is a pretty place, also know where the Tail of the Dragon is have seen photos of 18 wheelers trying to take a 53' trailer around there even though they have signs warning them of the curves, some don't listen. Anyway on a side note about the Tail of the Dragon. I read they recently stopped providing ambulance service on the NC side so I hope know one wrecks. Find below the link to trucks on tail of the dragon:

It's just like Ken setting me up with an opportunity to zing him, just can't resist.

I see you fixed it, too bad you couldn't fix my quote.

I was nekkid in the shower. :D

Had a load from Calexico to Marion, IL. Stopped in at Matthews to fuel and shower before the delivery this morning. I was only there for an hour, maybe an hour and a half. Ran another one after I delivered, and am now on my way to pick one up headed for beautiful downtown Romulus.
