Laredo, Tx. to Symrna, Tn. Rough weekend in Laredo for me. Had the male version pf giving birth (passing kidney stone). Rough stuff!

EMT in Lansing. Hopefully not for long. Bid in for Chicagoland area.
Actually no truck stop in Chicago or NW Indiana are safe. Instead I'd hang at the Pilot in Channahon or the Pilot in Minooka. Both are still in the Chicagoland area but away from the "riff raff"!

When there, I try to aim for somewhere between Belvidere or Beloit. I've got a favorite out there but I almost NEVER remember where it is and have to look it up every time.
Just drove down to Pilot in Monee. Got a 1700 p/u near here to go to Rock Island. Are Chicago drivers stupid, insane or both?Between the Stevenson and the Dan Ryan, it's worse than Jersey
Drivers are stupid, insane and sometimes both in any big city! You just happened to be traveling around rush hour traffic. I always avoid the Dan Ryan at all costs. I-55 has its areas of congestion. *Areas close to the city, ie the Ryan/Kennedy split. And by Arsenal Rd. they're rebuilding the bridge over the Des Plaines River and the interstate is shut down to one lane both north and south. Lots of accidents in that area. You definitely want to avoid. If ever in those areas ask and I'll try to guide you around some back roads. I-80 is good and no problems on it. I-57 is good but I've heard around Kankakee area they're doing construction so traffic can be bad at times.

Moved from grand island,neb to omaha,neb hoping for a load soon!
Ouch, been there done that, first time by the time I got to the hospital and into the catscan, the stone had passed and it was over. The second time it happened I didn't get so lucky, a couple of days after I passed the stone, I was back in pain, ended up with a kidney infection, spent the night in the hospital on IVs and the next week spaced out on vicodin. Took almost 3 weeks to get my appetite back, every time I thought about food I felt like I was going to throw up.
If the pain comes back, get to your doctor quick.

What a clusterfutz this run was! First, which door. No bigs. Next, need the magic number. Phone calls, waiting. Typical bs. What's the load? Whipping cream. Frozen. Guess who has no reefer? Yup. Sounds like a TONU, right? Nope. Got clearance to take it. Booked it across Illinoise, didn't use my heat. Get to drop. Guy says "don't worry about it, this stuff has to THAW, that's right, thaw by morning!" Da frick?
