Occupy wall street vindicated the Tea Party

Good article. It makes one think. The OWS claim to represent the "99%" They do not. They claim to "protest" the actions of the "!%". Not correct. They might represent 3 or 4% of the country. The reason the Tea Party has not had these problems is that they do represent normal, hard working Americans. Not the super rich, not the bums, they are the true producers in the country, not the users and takers.

Thank you Mr. Brandon Loran Maxwell, another nobody with a blog and an opinion that gets linked because somebody can't express their own opinion.

I wasn't aware that the Tea Party was in need of vindication but apparently Mr. Maxwell was. The way he portrayed the OWS crowd he could compare them to Nazi Germany and make Hitler look like a Boy Scout. Now there's some heavy duty vindication.

If one wanted to make an unbiased, meaningful and interesting comparison some parallels could be drawn between the Occupy Wall Street movement and The Boston Tea Party.

Both were planned protests involving civil disobedience. Both involved destruction of property. Both started out more or less with a single issue and morphed into a much broader dissatisfaction with government run a muck.

Mr. Maxwell writes: But at least the right to bear arms and freedom of speech, unlike rape, vandalism, and drug usage -- all seen at Occupy Wall Street protests -- are protected under the U.S. Constitution.
The right to bear arms and freedom of speech were not protected under the U.S. Constitution for participants in the Boston Tea Party because there was no U.S. Constitution at the time. I suspect these Colonists probably bore arms and did a lot of public speaking. It is a fact that vandalism was committed at the Boston Tea Party and there may have been some drug use and possible a rape.

One of these protests led to the birth of a new nation. It will be interesting to see what the other leads to.

I admit I do not understand the Occupy Wall Street movement. Is anyone suggesting the Occupiers should be taken seriously? Let's get to the crux of the matter. What do they want? What do they really, really want?

Most have no clue. The "leaders" or "instigators" want a leftist state in control of everything. Government control of wages, government set profit levels. Not good.

I have a suspicion that many of the OWS crowd are coddled children(now coddled young adults) who have come to the realization that life is hard. They will have to work hard, struggle and compete just like everyone else. Many are shocked and angered to learn their sense of entitlement was a cruel hoax. The transition from childhood to adulthood is just too much for them to handle. Whining about income inequality??? Sheesh.

More like "wanna be" bums. Far too many have had everything handed to them and now, that they have to "earn" something, they are falling apart. Most likely were graded on the "curve" as well. Maybe even went to a school were "competition" was banned.

Let's get to the crux of the matter. What do they want? What do they really, really want?

It started out as a means to bring attention and oversight to the banking and financial industry. It has mushroomed into a soapbox for just about any malcontent who has a grievance to air. While one may not be able to point to any one specific demand, I believe the general sentiment is one of frustration, dissatisfaction and discontent for how and who is running this country.

Many of the people who voted for Obama and his "hope and change" are discouraged to find there is no hope, very little change and he is not much different than Bush. I think Howard Beale's little speech sums up how many people feel today and this feeling is spreading.

Wonder why they aren't at the White House?
Maybe because they can't pitch tents and poop everywhere? Don't know.

Probably for the same reason we haven't heard from our west coast friend here on E.O. since Obama was elected.

Could be. I couldn't defend the current foolishiness.
Ragman's picture has proven me wrong. :D

Because alot of them say even though they know Obama has faild they are going to vote for him again. They then go on to point out that its the republicans fault that O has failed to lead this country.Though they can not really tell how.Plus Obama stands for everything they want free.
