As gas prices keep going up Obama blames everyone from republicans, the middle east, and the Koch brothers. :D http://hotair.com/archives/2012/02/...-high-gas-prices-by-blaming-the-koch-brothers This guy is laughable and totally in over his head as president. His answer to high gas prices is to inflate your tires better and are you waiting? Algae.:D I guess he must be channeling Benjamin Braddock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHGCvJjat1E&feature=related

I guess most people forgot 2008 when O'B made the statement that he doesn't care if gas goes to $7.00 a gallon. His BS has most people snowed and right now he will probably get re-elected since the Gop guys can't wake up. Costa Rica here I come.

The average price of a gallon of gas in the state of Wyoming as of 2/26 was $3.07.8 and treading down (it was as low as $2.79.8 at the end of Jan) and the average in my home state of Ohio is $3.65.9.....

Wonder why they can keep it that low in wyoming.....Oh and does anyone realize that the price of gas per gallon was 9% lower when Bush left office then it was when he TOOK office and that it is 100% higher today then it was when barry took office....

A two-term president has 728 days in the middle of beginning and end days of their presidency.

My memory is fading a tad, so maybe some of you can help me remember who was the president in the middle of 2008 when gas was well over $4.00/gallon.

I realize that gas prices toward the end of a term gets people excited for whomever the price is benefitting at the moment, but do any of you believe that a president has any direct or even closely indirect effect on fuel prices? Neither side is without fault. No energy policy=plenty of blame for both sides.

And before any of you starts whining about Keystone, please explain to me where exactly all of that crude will go, since the refineries in Houston are either at or near capacity.

I personally believe that algae holds a ton of promise for OTR diesel trucks.

Algae may hold promise, but years or decades down the road. Coal is a far better source for diesel production right now.

they did not learned anything from the Bio fuels history.
look at the Midwest. used to grow food, now they grow fuel.

so now they are going to grow Algae where mushroom, rice and sugar grow.
that's just great.

I know little about it, Joe. Got any good materials on it?

On coal to diesel production? A TON of info on it on the net. Proven. Germany used it in WWII. South Africa used it. It is relatively simple to do and due to improvements in the process the diesel can be as clean, or cleaner burning than today's fuel.

Apparently Wyoming and Colorado have more of a supply than other states do so they can keep costs down. http://money.cnn.com/2011/03/01/news/economy/_price_states/index.htm

Bush lifted the moratorium for off shore drilling in the summer of 08 and prices went down. Obama came into office and they have been coming back up ever since.

Algae can be grown vertically, Moose, in the desert. Algae production doesn't compete at all with feed stock, or grazing land. One of the reasons I believe it holds so much promise.

Maybe algae of 20 to 30 years from now is the plastics of the 70's and beyond. A big maybe. The fact remains that this administration's lack of a coherent energy policy that includes drilling for oil and natural gas pretty much everywhere we can and instead throwing huge amounts of money at boondogles such as Solyndra has been a complete failure. Charles Krauthammer sums it up perfectly. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucUEWeS1rO8

Obama won't have to put an ounce of fuel in his car for at least five more years according to him. One of the perks of being president I guess.

While you are beating up on Obama, he made one thing clear, it isn't the fault of any president.

With oil prices around $120 a barrel from the last time I looked, the price of gas has not jumped to the $4 mark.

Algae and other options should be explored and pursued if they hold promise and can become viable. That should be secondary at this point to current fuels which work and which are reasonably plentiful. Sadly, the current administration is concerned only with an agenda and not at all with what is best for the nation and what should be done.

Besides, energy development is NOT a government or tax payer function. That is a function of private industry and ONLY private industry.

I think that many miss a point what's driving the price up and coupled with that is of the world sees an increase in oil production does that mean there is going to be lower prices?

just as it was bushs fault when nasty nancy and the dems were screaming he was doing it all for his oil buddies...its barrys fault because it simply fits the agenda..nothing more, nothing less..:)

.

Since Obama won't do this.. We'll never know, But.... Approve keystone, sell usable leases on and off shore, get off the backs of the oil company with ridiculous regulations..
AKA GET THE #%# OUT OF THE WAY and let the rough necks do what they do best. Find the oil.

You can kid yourself all you want. Obama is full of cow droppings if he really thinks high fuel prices are no fault of his.

Part of the reason fuel prices are high has NOTHING to do with drilling but the inflation of our dollar. That falls right on his insane spending and little Tim's running of the presses to pay for it.
