Obama to nation: Give me your children.

I don't see any return of the masses to the "silent minority" any time soon. As a matter of fact, I see the opposite happening. The more time goes on, the more this leftist's agenda is exposed to the light, the more people are going to get on board to fight for their country.

This could very well be Obama's legacy; he inspired his opposition to get off their butts, speak out and fight back.

Yea, I see the problem but it bigger than all of this.

Here is why....

The department of education has been used as a political tool since its creation and before that there was decentralized loosely form of groups that tried toset national standards. This lesson plan is not as bad as their other lesson plans where they stress soft skills instead of the three rs.

The public school system, like it or not is where they have been indoctrinating children for 40 plus years. it is a place run by the unions and a place that the parents have really little say in what Jane and johnny are taught. It is not the big stuff that the parents catch that matter like this, it is the little stuff, the little peer pressure that is started by the teachers to shape the opinion of the kids or in some form of competitive stance made by the teachers and administrator that puts the kids at risk by forcing them to think as a group (if that made any sense, what I mean is this volunteer thing started in the 90's by the DoE under clinton).

Now that these same radicals who were like my teachers in school are in power, we will have to consider ending the DoE and finding a way to end kidnapping of our kids by the teachers union - public servants should not have unions.

To me, a product of 1960's education reform and experinentation, public education should end and it should be turned over to private companies to properly teach the kids without teachers more worried about tenure than about how well their kids are going to do in the future.

End the madness - end public education.

There is and has been for sometime home schooling. We all have the option to keep our kids home and teach them ourselves. Indoctrination goes on all the time. IBM did it, quite cleverly I might add, in the 80's by donating entire computer labs to school systems. The kids learned computer skills on IBM computers, and as a result, That is what they were comfortable with when they became adults...

Yeah, that's it!! He really loves America. He's using reverse psychology to take back the country from the left wing wackos...Brilliant!

Wasn't that the same thing that happened with apple, they infiltrated the schools by the way of the teachers and because they were the only way to go, the schools got them at a very small discount or in many cases at retail?

But see the difference is that since the DoE inception, there is more of a concerted effort to come up with standards and force all the kids to think alike.

A lot of things cause kids to think alike.. Peer pressure probably more than anything...

Spelling is ONLY important in the "finished" version of a book or paper. I would always first just "let the thoughts flow" to get my ideas on paper ane THEN clean it up!! IN this forum I am NOT so picky. I just "let 'em rip"!!!! When I do want to get "fancy" I write it in word, copy and paste after I spell check it.

Most publishing houses have peonsto spell check all the books, which kinda reinforces what i said

And now we have 10-15% of the population that believe macs are the bomb. even though most business don't use them.so the kids had to relearn most of there computer skills,Just another fail for DoE.

Seriously we need to just wipe clean the education system, none of the old educators should be allowed to get anywhere near a school, just like those on the sex crime list because what they are doing to the kids is equally offensive

Well the best thing to do is to allow the parents to actually decide where the kids go to school. I like the way France does it, the parents have to select the school and register the kids and the school gets X amount of money and only X amount of money for that student. Nothing else is provided outside of basic operating funding to keep the buildings in shape and staffed with maintenance people.

The money follows the kids, not the kids follow the money. When you think about it, there has to something said about the real failure of our country.

They also have a teachers union, they also have a lot of regulations but they also teach their kids.

Look at the DC school district and then the Detroit school district, both run by the union and both poorly equipped to have students who can add or subtract. It is not all the teachers mind you, the parents are too lazy to fight for their kids education and accept low standards but focus on race and stuff that doesn't matter in the real world.

I OFTEN fought the left wing radicals that were teaching my sons. (surpised?) It was, for the most part, a losing battle. They did NOT believe that they worked for me, they believed that we were subserveant to them. They KNEW BETTER than I did what my sons needed to learn. One even pulled the "I have much more education than you do" card. I pulled the "I pay your wages bubba!!" card back. I also pulled the "I have REAL LIFE" experience card since that twit have left high school, straight to college, then to grad school and straight into teaching. NEVER worked OUTSIDE of the academic world his entire adult life. It showed too. Why is it that people who have done the least spout off the most? ANYONE can get through school, making it in the real world is tough. You REALLY have to suceed out here.

It's funny you mention that. There's a saying about "Those who can't do, teach." Wilkow brought up great points about his professors... all of them knew how to spew, but none had experience in the field they spewed about. No wonder they're libs!

Which brings me to another point... libs are willing to become teachers, and share their insights into things they know nothing about. Most politicians do the same thing! Any who are not lawyers tend to be on the right side of the isle. The Republicans have businessmen, doctors, etc. What is the benefit for a lawyer to become a politician? Power, maybe? Call me a fool, but it seems kinda weird that lawyers are writing policy for healthcare. Something they have no experience in, as usual.
