Obama AWOL on Veterans Day

As a Gulf War Veteran I am appalled that the President couldn't be stateside to honor our Vets. This whole trip has been a disaster and a waste of tax payers money. Can it get any worse? After seeing President Bushs' interviews lately, I am seriously missing that guy. At least he stood for something!

Link: Obama hails "this great country" -- Indonesia - NYPOST.com

WASHINGTON -- Today is Veter ans Day. Do you know where your president is?

With his feeble flame of "hope" thoroughly doused here in the United States by last week's elections, President Obama has set out around the globe in search of throngs still enthralled by his flowery rhetoric.

He found them, of course, in Indonesia this week by telling them about how Americans must stop mistrusting Islam.

So that is why your president is halfway around the world instead of being here in the United States to celebrate the sacrifices American soldiers, sailors and airmen have made around the world to keep the real, still-burning flame of freedom alive.

Obama honored our veterans from afar by laying a wreath during a ceremony at an Army base in South Korea last night.

That is a distance from here matched only by the chasm that has opened up between him and the voters who elected him two years ago.

This aloofness of his really is becoming a problem.

Not that Obama doesn't appreciate the sacrifices of veterans. He absolutely does. Just ask the Indonesians.

He was in Jakarta for their Heroes Day this week to honor their veterans "who have sacrificed on behalf of this great country."

"This great country," of course, being Indonesia.

"When my stepfather was a boy, he watched his own father and older brother leave home to fight and die in the struggle for Indonesian independence," Obama told the audience.

And the White House wonders why so many people think there is something foreign about this guy.

In the same speech, Obama gave voice to a harsh criticism he has heard about freely elected governments.

"Today, we sometimes hear that democracy stands in the way of economic progress," he said.

The shocking statement raises the question: Where has Obama heard this fatuous claim and with whom has he been talking politics?

Thankfully, your president tepidly disputed this calumny against democracy, but the alarming questions remain. He went on to tell the Indonesians, "Democracy is messy."

"Not everyone likes the results of every election. You go through ups and downs," he said.

At least it sounds like Obama is starting to get the message voters sent him last week.

I have no use for Obama as President and little use for him in general. I have not like a single thing he has done since being electing other than his time spent sleeping. I do, however, think that this is not the first time a president has been out of the country on Nov. 11. He does, however, have NO respect for those in the military now or those who served in the past.

Not all countries have this holiday so that is not all that relevant.
What other "leaders" do on Nov. 11th has no bearing on what goes on here. Barry is a Putz no matter what he does on ANY day.

Who cares about Canada's PM.....was it Veterans Day in Canada? Canada also isn't at war in Afganistan, Iraq, Pakistan and wherever terroists may be in the world. Those that have put their lives on the line for the freedom of this country deserves to be honored here at home, by our President.

We should not elect presidents who have zero respect for those who serve now or in the past. I would rather have him gone than show up and lie. Yes, those who put their lives on the line deserve to be honored. Obama cannot and will not honor those who stand for what he hates.

Dog turd? Okay, sure. Are you a U.S. resident born and raised here in the United States? If not, then I'm not sure if this pertains to you or if you can fully understand. I could give a rat's *ss where the Canadian Prime Minister is on Veterans Day. When Canada has been attacked on their soil by terroist like we were on 9/11 then maybe you would understand why I think our President should be home honoring those that have put their lives on the line for our freedom.

Your PM should've been back home in Canada remembering the sacrifices your countrymen have made, just the same as our President should've been here doing the same.

OK, guys, there is enough things to rag on Obama about. There is NO need to rag on each other. Let's make nice, PLEASE!! There is NO need for name calling or any of this. Just pick on Obama. We are all on the same side here, at least most of us are.

As tragic as 9/11 was and no more then the attack on Pearl.....both very unfortunate parts of American history...

Canada also isn't at war in Afganistan, Iraq, Pakistan and wherever terroists may be in the world.
It was this piece of misinformation that set my fuse off....

I am as defensive of Canada as you are about the US and should be deservedly so...

Seems like every time he leaves the country to do something, he can't git r dun. We should have taken note when he had the IOC laughing at him for his arrogance on expecting them to hand Chicago the Olympics just because he expected them to.
