Well...Obama did ask the NBA and NFL but they declined. I am surprised he hasn't asked the rap and hiphop folks. Maybe that is coming?
Rates are going to go up. If you are going to insure 30M more that don't have coverage now, pretty good guess everyone will be footing the bill.
I don't know - how many don't have insurance because [like myself] they have no apparent medical problems? There's a lot of very healthy people who aren't paying any premiums, who will be contributing more money into the collective pot.
And of course, you have 11M illegals that will become part of that at some point. It is not part of the current bill, but it is coming.
Hey: that's 11 million more people paying for insurance!
In a perfect world only. The 11 million are for the most part on lower rung of the economic ladder. What they would pay in penalties or a premium won't come close to covering their actual care and costs. Taxpayers will be picking up the rest.
Insurance companies under the new plan and law have to spend 80 percent of every dollar on patient care. I don't believe they are going to be raking it in. The high rates will be generated by covering 30M more people and the explosive growth of lawsuits. When they start looking at tort reform and nationwide portable insurance, then you will know they are actually looking at costs.
Obamacare in my opinion is nothing more than a first move to a government single payer system.
And we see how well that is working in other countries.
