Obama’s 90 Accomplishments / Email List | Telling Thoughts

I received this information via email from from a genuine Obama supporter today. I have no reason to doubt the the claims made or the authenticity of the original source. I have added a link to the author’s (Dr Robert Watson) Lynn University Boca Raton website. As you will see he has very impressive credentials. This information is definitely worth circulating.

PS. You may even care to send him an email.

Forwarding source quote:-” The author of this information is Professor Robert Watson of Lynn University

“Hi friends,

I am always being asked to grade Obama’s presidency. In place of offering him a grade, I put together a list of his accomplishments thus far. I think you would agree that it is very impressive. His first six months have been even more active than FDRs or LBJs the two standards for such assessments. Yet, there is little media attention given to much of what he has done.

Of late, the media is focusing almost exclusively on Obama’s critics, without holding them responsible for the uncivil, unconstructive tone of their disagreements or without holding the previous administration responsible for getting us in such a deep hole. The misinformation and venom that now passes for political reporting and civic debate is beyond description.

As such, there is a need to set the record straight. What most impresses me is the fact that Obama has accomplished so much not from a heavy-handed or top-down approach but from a style that has institutionalized efforts to reach across the aisle, encourage vigorous debate, and utilize town halls and panels of experts in the policy-making process.

Beyond the accomplishments, the process is good for democracy and our democratic processes have been battered and bruised in recent years.

Let me know if I missed anything in the list (surely I did).

Robert

Weak.

That's like listing my accomplishments for the morning:

1. Thought about getting up.

2. Got up.

3. Planned to eat breakfast sometime this morning.

4. Instituted the eat breakfast sometime this morning plan.

5. Evaluated need to visit the bathroom.

6. Proceeded to put into action plan to visit bathroom.

7. Evaluated low tire on rear of van.

8. Developed plan to investigate low air pressure in rear tire of van.

9. Pressed on with plan to get to work, even taking into account the low air in van tire.

10. Drove to work, while avoiding flat tire. Yeah.

I managed to accomplish 10% of what he has managed in only one morning! I would argue, I may have been more productive! At least I actually got to work! :D

Wow what a stretch. With all of those supposed "accomplishments", I can wait for the next six months!

Dr. Watson must be smoking the same stuff as his students. This is a list of talking points, not accomplishments. Some of these claims are downright laughable, others are outright falsehoods, most are just bs. The list is too long to refute on a line-item basis, but I'll just use numbers 1 & 2 for an example: ordering federal operations and agencies to conduct "studies" and cut wasteful spending (has there ever been an administration that DIDN'T do that?) while running up what is by far the largest deficit in the nation's history. Items 8 & 9 are also good for a laugh - anybody seen the czar list lately? Of course there's no doubt that BHO is a liberal college professor's dream come true.

I don't know has there? Care to share that information with us?

President Obama certainly isn’t the first to appoint “czars.” The practice of using executive order to appoint overseers for special tasks has been common since Franklin D. Roosevelt who in 1942 appointed “czars” of prices, ships, production and the economy. In 1973, Nixon appointed the first “drug czar” and George H. W. Bush continued that tradition with the appointment of William Bennett during his administration. In fact, every president in recent history has appointed people to head up agencies or facilitate and promote special policy decisions. Calling those appointees “czars” is the media’s mistake, but what is disturbing is that the practice has been allowed by congress at all.

Here's the list of "czars" since you asked:

Afghanistan Czar - Richard Holbrooke

AIDS Czar - Jeffrey Crowley

Auto Recovery czar - Ed Montgomery

Border Czar - Alan Bersin

Car Czar - Ron Bloom

Central Region Czar - Dennis Ross

Domestic Violence Czar - Lynn Rosenthal

Drug Czar - Gil Kerlikowske

Economic Czar - Paul Volcker

Energy and Environment Czar - Carol Browner

Faith-Based Czar - Joshua DuBois

Great Lakes Czar - Cameron Davis

Green Jobs Czar - Van Jones (resigned on Sept. 6)

Guantanamo Closure Czar - Daniel Fried

Health Czar - Nancy-Ann DeParle

Information Czar - Vivek Kundra

International Climate Czar - Todd Stern

Mideast Peace Czar - George Mitchell

Pay Czar - Kenneth Feinberg

Regulatory Czar - Cass Sunstein *

Science Czar - John Holdren

Stimulus Accountability Czar - Earl Devaney - statutory position

Sudan Czar - J. Scott Gration

TARP Czar - Herb Allison

Terrorism Czar - John Brennan

Technology Czar- Aneesh Chopra

Urban Affairs Czar - Adolfo Carrion Jr.

Weapons Czar - Ashton Carter

WMD Policy Czar - Gary Samore

Certainly previous Presidents have appointed "czars" but I'm betting that this is the first that has surrounded himself with self-proclaimed communists and appointees that are Mao fans.

I agree that you could find some "questionable" people on that list, that's a very vague description as there are questionable people everywhere...you're just not going to find any communists or Mao lovers.

I know that they resigned but do you have the sources proving you claims?

You know really I could say the same thing about Palin quitting the Governership in Alaska and you will say she had to for such and such reason.

In their own words.....

Anita Dunn

Van Jones Quote:

In 1992, while still a law student at Yale, Jones participated as a volunteer legal monitor for a protest of the Rodney King verdict in San Francisco. He and many other participants in the protest were arrested. The district attorney later dropped the charges against Jones. The arrested protesters, including Jones, won a small legal settlement. Jones later said that "the incident deepened my disaffection with the system and accelerated my political radicalization."[18] In October 2005 Jones said he was "a rowdy nationalist"[15] before the King verdict was announced, but that by August of that year (1992) he was a communist. [15] Jones's activism was also spurred on by witnessing racial inequality in New Haven, Connecticut: "I was seeing kids at Yale do drugs and talk about it openly, and have nothing happen to them or, if anything, get sent to rehab...And then I was seeing kids three blocks away, in the housing projects, doing the same drugs, in smaller amounts, go to prison.”[14]

No, you really couldn't say that. Palin resigning from her governorship had nothing to do with being a communist or a Mao fan....that IS what we're talking about here.

It's after 3:00AM and my insomnia is about to wear off, so I'm not going to nitpick through every one of these names; but I suspect that most are misrepresented as czars. For example, Michael Chertoff is one that jumps out - he was NOT A CZAR; he was Secretary of the Dept of Homeland Security and was confirmed by the Senate for that position. Mitch Daniels, Rob Portman and Josh Bolton all served as Director of the OMB - THEY WERE NOT CZARS. Karl Rove was NOT A CZAR - he was a Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff. Whoever made up this list didn't understand the meaning of the term.

On the other hand, you won't find anyone on that list like
Kevin Jennings - OBAMA'S SAFE SCHOOL CZAR. As a teacher, when a 15 year old male student said he was having sex with an older man, instead of turning in the man—the law for a teacher--he asked the boy how it was going and suggested they use condoms. Held a conference with the MAXIMUM age of 18 to teach homosexual issues that we can't discuss on this forum or in polite society. Wrote the intro to the book, “Queering Elementary Education.” Has repeatedly praised and claims to be inspired by Harry Hay, early supporter of NAMBLA, (Noth American Man Boy Love Association).

Yessir, Barack Hussein Obama has some real winners on his team.
