Only if you're a pedophile dressed as a clown, and your uncle is a Chicago politician or union boss. :D

Agreed. The two biggest distractions ever aren't even under consideration: kids and flies.
If those are banned, we know they mean business. ;)

You forgot bee's and wasp's, I've nearly had a few accidents when one decided to come in to the vehicle with me.
Yes, I am scared, their stings HURT:eek:

I'm trying to figure out where Westmont borders Oak Park. So help me, I can't do it.

About the subject of this thread: There's a number of towns around here that have ordinances that make it difficult if not impossible for people in our line of work to live there. Flossmoor won't let you park your cargovan in town at all, last I heard, which is reason enough for me to never move to Flossmoor. Chicago has gotten so expensive that no sane person would move there if he has any other choice. So far, Oak Park is the only town I've heard about with the eating and drinking ban, but other towns and cities seem to have enough goofy ideas to make you wonder if we're electing sane people to run our governments. I don't even want to discuss Illinois politics, the goofy laws passed in Springfield will leave you scratching your head for days.

For the most part we're not too worried about Oak Park itself anyway. There's no industrial base to speak of there, and so much of the town bans trucks from passing through anyway that eating and drinking while driving through town become non-issues.

I suppose I could put my location-- Carol Stream, IL-- up here just so's you know that I'm from around here, maybe I'll do it a bit later.

mj: they haven't actually banned eating & drinking, just talking about a proposal - and I'm pretty sure the general response will be much like ours, and it will be a non issue.
The problem is distraction - banning the specific behaviors won't do much to address the problem, because they'll just be replaced by different behaviors. Like ducking below the dash to have a sip of coffee....
