o2 sensor

I forgot to close a fuel cap and a lid on my 2010 ford E-150 after re-fueling.

I was driving good 50 - 100 miles before check engine light came on, so I pulled over to investigate, fuel cap was not secure at all. Check engine turned off after 24 hours after closing and lucking the fuel cap.

Three days have past and ones again, check engine light came on, luckily I was near my house. My friend came over with his computer and we found out it is o2 sensor.

Is this something I could buy and fix my self ? If so, where is the location of that o2 sensor on my van. THX

Yes you can fix it yourself. There are 4 i think so you will have to look at the book and know the codes i think most are bolt on sensor anymore. I have and 05 ford that was giving me the o2 sensor but after closer look the clip holding the wiring harness broke and the wires where on the manifold and i had to replace the hole harness. Jest take a few extra min to look it over so you don't spend more money then u have two

was it bank 1 or 2 and was it 1 or 2 on the bank, bank 1 on ford is passengerside, be careful for some fords the pipe on rear 02 cross over the 1 bank so look

So, my mechanic made me an appointment to see this "Ford specialist for Econolines" in a couple of days. I need to update my on board computer cuz it might be to sensitive. So I was told.

But with so many miles it is still possible that o2 sensor is at fault.
