I can't say anything about the person in question. It would be advisable to contact this owner and have them provide references of current and past drivers. That will give you a clue of what to expect.

Good luck

That may be your first clue.
To be fair, ask the owner again in case there was some sort of miscommunication. If you get the old folks home again, I would walk.
I would interpret that as NO references.

grey hound, hahaha.i have been told by 3 diff carriers that they are turning down 100 loads a week.why is that if all i read on here is everybody is sitting for days on end waiting for a load offer.i do not mean to sound -,but are drivers turning down loads that in there mind don't pay,and wanting for the big run to come?i don't mind sitting, but not for 2 maybe 3 day waiting for a load, thats bs.

Yes you will hear that companys are turning down hundreds of loads a day but it isn't just because drivers are turning them all down. I would guess that a good majority is because they don't have trucks in those areas which the customer is located. alot of these loads are from what I call backwoods areas where even if there were to be 10,000 more trucks there still probably wouldn't be any in that area because it's not a hot spot. your not going to go to an area where you might have to sit for a week or more and still not be sure if a load will be coming out. Companys could have a truck sitting on every corner of every major intersection of every major city, (which some try to do ) and still have to turn down loads. They make it sound like there is not enough drivers to cover these loads but that isn't the problem. Actually the expedite industry in my opinion is over saturated, but these companys keep putting on more trucks, only to have them end up sitting next to the other 3 or 4 or more that are already there. Which only ends up hurting the drivers they already have. Which also by flooding the market with more drivers, all that will end up happening is cheaper freight where mainly the driver ends up losing as usual.

Plus if these companies have a majority of the trucks running they are making money. So if you are sitting you are losing money. The company may not be making any money off your truck while you are sitting but they aren't losing any money. I would be willing to bet you money that if you were getting layover pay while sitting they would find you a load.

"Not a hot spot" See folks, ya got the hot spots figgured out. Maybe, just maybe, don't you think the other 10,000 think they got it figgured too?? Looks to me yer all stacked up in the "hot spots" cause ya got it figger'd out. Besides, facts tell me that if a company has 1000 trucks, only about 300 are available at any given time. The remainder are out of service because their toes sore, their ##### is sore, their great aunt 14 times removed died, or, a mirade of other reasons. Ask any Carrier what percent of their total trucks are available at any given time. I won't miss it far. And you all blame the Carrier for adding trucks. Tsh, tsh. Anyway, keep doing me a favor, and keep stacking up in the "hot spots".
