No BigCat, its dumb as hell to give free ad space on the side of the trailer and the out of pocket expense with NO ROI is dumb as hell..

How do you know there will be no ROI? Sounds like you assume you know the whole story and can see into the future.

Thanks for hijacking the thread, & bringing it up from the graveyard.
to the points.
Lets make one thing clear:
'i do not advertise OOIDA for free'!
if any of you have followed my posts, then by now you probably noticed that i buy the trucks (or trailor in this case) with no money down.
there for the laser graphics 'came with the machine', and will pay itself back 10 times over when it's all said and done.
IF, i wanted to get paid for advertising, all i needed to do is choose one from MANY available options lining up, curtsey of my carrier.
a good example is a well paying costumer we have called 'Hooters', i told them i will need to 'check the products 1st' before signing the deal, but they refused. so no deal...Beaches!...

as to the ,membership due's, i always take advantage of discounts offers,
which get 2 copy's of LandLine Mag into my home mail box at a costs of 2.50$ a magazine. inside i find the BEST source of trucking information, joybels reads, and consider it to be subscribers fees well spent.
into my very own Email box i get TON of info. Via the 'Call to actions', for how to flat out harass my congressman's. everyone chooses his or her own battles, & i really enjoy calling that 202 #, and make sure they hear my voice.( it can be quite interesting @ times, calling Michelle Backmans office, they simply don't care.LoL...)

to learn more about "what OOIDA can do for me ?", all one needs to to is go to their web page, under 'benefits & services for truckers'. a very impressive lists. some of which i personally took advantage off over the years to benefits my very own business.
Benefits and Services for truckers - Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association
here is only one option i am considering :Glider Kit, Trucking Benefits and Services, a 25$ members card that will save me over 1,000$ on my next truck.
Cool.
