Talking about forecasting and projections...an interesting ditty...

looking back over my books..what I have of them...

up to this date and if I project forward till years end..I will be about 20,000 miles LESS driving BUT my income will be about 5K higher....:D

That equates approx. into $4,000 in LESS fuel and 2 less oil changes....not to even mention the lower overall maintenance costs.....and then there is the time off at longer intervals to actually feel more normal...

I think it SHOULD be good. But with that being said, way too much is riding on the stock market and the international debt crisis. Think we have a solution and the market climbs over 300. Then Greece has to "vote" if they will take a bailout?????, market drops 300.

My prediction.....choppy seas.

I think the same thing...going to tough....going to depend on ones with work smarts and actually thinking.... and some luck...think the straights will be busier then the smalls as has been last couple months....

don't expect to take time off and come back and make it up...it just isn't there...

The pace of manufacturing growth in the United States slowed in October as the Institute of Supply Management’s PMI fell back 0.8 percentage points to 50.8 percent, but the closely watched index also showed promise of growth in several critical measures.
The index for pricing plunged 15 percentage points to 41 percent, the first time that measure has moved into contraction since May 2009. At the same time, the index for new orders jumped 2.8 percentage points to 52.4 percent, the highest point since April and an indication factory activity would pick up in coming months.
The ISM figures show the manufacturing sector has room to grow, with inventories falling back 5.3 points to 46.7 percent, the lowest point for factory stocks so far in 2011. Manufacturers are showing “more concern and caution about growth in this uncertain economy,” said Bradley J. Holcomb, chair of the ISM Manufacturing Business Survey Committee.

With shrinking inventories it COULD be good for us...at some point...

well, this comment is made with fingers crossed. if things pick up for the year end then great, we will take it. if not and they stay the same that is ok to. we have not been just setting the world of expedite on fire with 5000 mile weeks but we have been darn steady. within 500 miles a week. that is pretty darn good and those weeks have been very respectable. i believe as one hard surfaced individual would say SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE. i do however believe we all will see a increase in freight over the next few weeks leading to years end. how big is the 64$ question.

We are hoping that it picks up. we had a bad few weeks and this past week had been good. If it continues like the past week or increases it would be very beneficial for us. Can only cross our fingers and toes.

My projection...the last 2 weeks of November and the first 2 weeks of Dec....as suppliers try to get stuff off the dock for year end (inventory and back orders) ....and catch up/get ahead for the the Christmas break.....after that you all might as well take a cruise....LOL
