We had to take Monday off to reset the logs and the UAW being off on Tuesday really slowed the week up for us too! Next week should be much better.
Oh yeah I'm at home in service hoping to get a long one that delivers on Monday!

Hampton Beach, new Hamshire. Dropped a load in Amesbury, Mass yesturday at 7am. Cam to New Hamshire to the TA to use their facilities. Great Great TA there. We decided to stay in service but to see the area. Experience has told us that our disbatch has got great difficulty getting loads over the week end. So rather than sitting we decided to see this part of the country. Ocean had High Tide last night. We parked out truck in the parking are across from the ocean and enjoyed an evening with the locals. Had a great time last night, Karaoke night, was fun. On our way to go south a bit now to see more ocean. We are just very tired of sitting and doing absolutely nothing over the weekends every week end.

Home in toledo, stopped at my sons pub/grill, got there in time to watch the michigan / ill basketball game...no way..it was a football game with a basketball game score...great defensive showing for both teams...
a so-so week got better today with a Chicago pick up to here in Taylor Mi...

Got a offer to load in Romulus,MI(Monday 11-1-10) and go to Tallahassee,FL for Tuesday(11-2-10).......ask dispatcher.....if they going to be able to get me out of there....sure I can,I just a driver out of Miami,FL a couple days ago.........I told him I never had any luck when I was in the tractor/trailer,so I never been back to FL.........Well delivered and went out of sevice(11-2-10@16:00) to get some sleep. Went back in sevice 11-3-10........guess what, still sitting in Tallahassee,FL..........................live and learn,but don't ask me again,unless pay for my DH back out.

Sittting at home. Don't forget to turn those clocks back 1 hr this morning if you haven't already done so. Going to head back towards the yard tomorrow night if nothing pans out down here.

Shawn, if you are at home (Salem), then why would you want to leave the comforts of home while waiting for a load instead of going 200 some odd miles and be cooped up in a van? Just wondering...lol...Youre not in a bad area, from my past pickups in Salem throughout the years...

That's what I was wondering ....
I very rarely ever have to wait more than 24 hours before being dispatched while at home, after returning to service.
Haven't picked up in Salem lately - but BAP (Blackhawk Automotive Plastics) was, I believe, the largest customer of the carrier I was leased to previously - and they were generally running multiple expedite loads per day.
I do know that they filed Chapter 11 back in '07 ... not sure what their current situation is ...
At any rate, this area (northeast Ohio), in my experience, has no real shortage of expedite loads, generally speaking ... in my book, it's kinda silly to head elsewhere ...... unless ya just wanna go hang with the gang up at the yard.

anyone traveling into Slt Lk City this next 2 weeks needs to be advised of I-15 closures ,mainly over nights ,as they swing the new overpasses across the Hwy .
i know Provo vally(189) is closed for big trucks ,but do not know if so for Straights .
