November and December

December is the highest straight truck accident prone month followed by November. For Big Rigs it was different.

Thursdays at 4PM is the highest likely time for an incident followed by Friday.

This was tracked by by Protective Insurance Co.

Safest Months were April and October and the safest days for straight trucks was Tuesday and Monday.

Be carefull out there, this comming Wednesday is just as bad as the Friday and Saturday before July 4th.

Wednesday is diffinately going to be a busy day for travel. I believe it is considered the heaviest day for air travel. For sure the highways will be busy. Add the chances for freezing rain and snow with conjested highways and it is a dangerous mix. Please be careful. Everyone on the road will be in a hurry to get to Grandma's house.

I plan to be home watching my turkey defrost in the sink on Wednesday. Boring but safe. Unless I set fire to my kitchen again.

Where ever you are I hope you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving. If you are working I hope it is a profitable weekend. If you are at home or layingover I hope it is relaxing. Either way enjoy!

There are three ways to safely thaw a turkey:
1 - In the refrigerator
2 - Covered in cold water
3 - In the microwave
Never thaw a turkey at room temperature.

1 - Refrigerator thawing is recommended method. Defrost the turkey in its original wrapper on a tray in the refrigerator 24 hours for every 5 pounds.

2 - You may also place the plastic-wrapped turkey in the sink and cover it completely with cold water for about 30 minutes per pound. Change the water every 30 minutes to make sure it stays cold. If the wrapping is torn, place the turkey in another plastic bag, close securely, and then place in water.

3 - For thawing in the microwave, check the manufacturer’s instructions for the size of turkey that will fit into your oven, the minutes per pound and the power level to use for thawing. Cook immediately after thawing.

Because, even though they could use him, salmonella isn't the shortstop for the Reds.

I do a combination of water in the sink and refrigerator defrosting. If I'm home Monday then I'll buy a fresh bird. We certainly don't need a visit from Sal.

I am more interested in this statement:

Sounds like a story worth telling.

Moot, tell them you exaggerated - you didn't actually set your kitchen on fire, just burned some Cool Whip...it could happen to anyone!:p
