Don't wish to get anyone all steamed up at me while reading this post, so before I start, this is me having fun with you all.

So, no money to be made in Expediting.
Well, Hubby and I live 3 miles from a local casino. We drive by it maybe 3 times a day. In the last 3 weeks we have seen Panther, Tri State and Fed Ex straight trucks sitting in the parking lot, for a total of 9 times in those 3 weeks. Who knows how many more that we did not see. Couple of times they were there over night.
I know they are spending that money they don't make much of in the casino, because we keep stopping to talk to them and there not in the trucks.
I could think of a better way to wait for a load.
Yes, we went in and asked if they could announce for the Panther driver to come to the front but the casino would not do it.

No money to be made huh?

Broker....When you start you will discover casinos make great places to park. The food is usually good, not to bad as far as price, the lots are clean, you don't have trouble with the local "lizards" and penny slots don't cost much :D

Have you gotten the materials to study for your CDL test?

They may have just gotten a cheap casino hotel room and left the van in the parking lot. I don't gamble, but I'm in Vegas, and strongly considered doing just that. Some of the rooms are just stoopid expensive, but some of the 2 and 3 day packages are really cheap at even some of the nicer places.

Yes, hubby told me about how good a place it would be to wait. Great parking area just for trucks (this is right off a major interstate) super lighting, great security, low $$ buffet, no crime in the area, etc. Forget the cheap rooms however, we asked, min. $100 a night, darn.
This was in fun. there are also about 6 to 10 Semi's there as well. Glad to see these Expeditors have found a neat area to rest or wait.

Working on the CDL and Hazmat. Take the test next week.
Hubby says first of the year and we are "on the road again" as a certain Country singer would say.

Everyone be safe today.

Turtle... go to Wild Wild West casino. Show em your cdl, and your room is $29. Nice room too! And their dinners specials are cheaper than eating out of the truck. I suggest their prime rib. Scott and I tried about everything on their menu... you can't lose!

Just seen another one tonight, (never head of this one)
This place has more Expediting trucks parking here than the worlds biggest truck stop I was at (Iowa).

Maybe its just me but when I see a parking lot full of trucks I think about how they are NOT making money.

I will say, unlike what I have read on here, these trucks are only there for one day or less and gone. Maybe they are just moving to another location but I would hope it was because they got a load.
5 different companies this week.

Thanks, Hawk. Hopefully I'll get out of here tomorrow. The Stratosphere has some 2 and 3 night packages for the same price. I'd rather stay at the Wild West, I think.
