The problem is they probably don't have enough nukes. We should kindly lend them a few, direct delivery of course.

Washington will burn in a sea of fire ?
A story I read said they may cancel the cease fire with South Korea.
They just seem to want to get into a fight.

I saw Kim Jong Il's funeral on TV last year. The most modern technology they had there was an old Buick station wagon from the late 60's or early 70's. Not too worried.

It only takes one. They MAY have that. They the enough of a delivery system. Just load it up on a cargo ship, launch from the Gulf of Mexico to an altitude of about 200 miles, which we KNOW they and do, and detonate over Kansas. THAT is a nightmare which they very well have the means to pull off.

The Cold War worked the way it did because the US and the USSR weren't actually crazy enough to do it. We got close a time or two, but in the end cooler heads prevailed and the hotheads backed down.

The problem now is that North Korea is run by an outfit that is completely crazy. The Chinese are backing away from North Korea as fast as they can because the regime is getting too nuts. These guys are just crazy enough to launch a nuke, even knowing their own annihilation must follow. We'll have to see how this one plays out, but those guys are just crazy enough to do it.

Well last year we gave them 2 billion barrels of oil from Alaska to keep their people warm. Do you really think anyone in our government has the kahoona's to do anything?

We got close to all out war more than two times during the Cold War. There was that mess in Korea, that we are still dealing with. We fought them in Vietnam, the PI, Central and South America. On top of that we opened the "silo doors" six time during my 20 years. The "Cold War" was far from "Cold" and it really never ended. Which is why we are STILL dealing with N. Korea.

and people were appalled by the death and destruction of 9/11....welcome to London of 1944...maybe more Americans (not just our vets) should experience just what a real war is...

War is something to be avoided at all costs.

I believe that many just could not handle it. War should not be avoided at all costs though. The absence of battle is not peace. We tried to avoid war in the 1930's and 12 million died in the camps. We tried to avoid war with the Soviets and over 25 million died in their camps. We may face the same evil here, soon. Sometimes it takes extreme measures to defeat extreme evil.

I what I really meant was war should not be taken lightly....too many throw around crap like "just bomb the crap out of them"....

It may come to that again. It may even happen here. It is no were near as simple to defend a nation as many think. It is a VERY fine line between too much and too little involvement.
