No Idling-Delaware

I read in Friday's "USA Today" that, beginning Friday (Sep 1), Delaware is going to start enforcing their recently passed "no-idle" law. Idling for more than THREE MINUTES can get you a fine of $50 to $500.

Thanks for the link. In looking at the text of the reg I see that they set the applicable GVWR of 8500 lbs just low enough to include Sprinters which have a GVWR of 8550.

Also in the text one of the specific exemptions is:

"f. any vehicle idling for the necessary power for a heater, air conditioner, or any ancillary equipment during sleeping or resting in a sleeper berth such that the vehicle’s location is not within 25 miles of a parking facility with available truckstop electrification equipment, either shore power or an advance system that is approved by the Department including meeting all compatibility requirements with existing onboard truck shorepower equipment; or"

so, it is not as restrictive as some other places.
