Now I know full well I am wasting my time for the most part here. Because 99% of the democrats will never bother to do any research on their own. But you can find several YouTube videos where the republicans tried to do something about the fanny Mae and Freddy mac and were called racists by the democrats on the committees which is the best way to politically kill any real debate. Nobama says he wrote letters but no one can find a copy of those letters I think they must be with his birth certificate no one can find that either. It was the democrats saying everyone “deserved a home” well guess what not if you can’t pay for it. My oldest son is irresponsible with his money he doesn’t deserve to own a home until he learns how to budget his money and handle his bills. My middle son can already buy one and pay cash and he is only 24 because he learned how to handle his money. So the democrats forced the banks to loosen the regs so anyone could get a mortgage with little or no money down. Let’s face people are idiots and they ran to the bank to get into an arm because they will save a few bucks for three years. Again that is not thinking long term. Three years later rates went up< big surprise there and now they can’t pay for it. The Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac problems fall squarely on the backs of the democrats and they did it to buy votes. Obama’s tax cut plan is the same thing vote for me and I’ll give you $1000.00 nothing but buying the vote. Nobama wants to cut taxes on 95% of the people ok now that’s lie #1 because 40% of those people already don’t pay any taxes how do you cut someone taxes when they don’t pay taxes? He told his real agenda with Joe the plumber he wants to take someone else’s money and give it to those in the 40% by giving them $1000.00 each. That my friend is welfare plain and simple and here is how the rest works if you make under the $250,000.00 and you get a tax refund of let’s say $600.00 then Nobama wants to send you $400.00 from someone else. So everyone that makes under $250,000.00 gets $1000.00 back. Again this is welfare. Just how do you cut taxes and propose to spend another trillion on new government give away programs? Just how much money do you think you can take from the people that provide jobs? Democrats complain that company’s move over seas well if you keep taxing them what do you expect them to do stay here? Why would they would you? Leo and Dave are right corp. taxes are passed on the Joe six-pack every time you increase corp. taxes the little guy is the one that pays it. Not the corporation! Now notice I didn’t have to call the democrats left wingers or anti religious nut cases unlike some of the posts put up here by democrats when you have to lower yourself to name calling you already lost and you know it. Ok now the people reading this that are now crying because I used the word Nobama for Obama that is not name calling that is my view

If I make 60 thousand dollars a year and pay 10 thousand a year in taxes and Obama gives me a 1 thousand dollar rebate; how is that welfare? It's my money!!! The government is the one who is getting a welfare handout. I work hard for my money and they steal it from me and don't even use if for projects that would benefit me. Look, if our government is so free market and all for a capitalist economy, why can't they generate their own freakin income without dipping their greedy little hands into my pocketbook!! The government should find their own means of revenue if they want to be considered capitalist. And as for the issue of (socialism) we already own the banks (your government bought all the bank loans) so we are now a socialist country. Wake up and stop playing partisan politics. We're all doomed here no matter which guy gets in office.

Why not, all who support Republican or Independent Candidates turn your Head lights on during the day and all who support Nobama turn your Head lights off at night.

blizzard, what it seems you and countless others don't understand is that under Obama's plan not only are you going to get back $1000 but so are the 40% who never paid a penny! Why do they deserve $1000 of your money? They definitely don't deserve $1000 of my money. If you are so ok with this then send me $1000 to replace what that fool is going to steal from me.

Why not, all who support Republican or Independent Candidates turn your Head lights on during the day and all who support Nobama turn your Head lights off at night.

We've had a republican in the white house for the last 8 years, with a republican house and senate for 6 of those. Yet the country is in the worst financial shape since the great depression.

The republicans had their chance and they blew it. You should quit worrying about headlights and open your eyes.

I'm really sick of hearing Republican rhetoric. Had the last 8 years gone well, then they would have room to talk. The way the republicans have mismanaged the country, the only 2 words the republicans and the people that voted for them should be saying are

I'm Sorry

I agree this nation is by far in big trouble.Yet we have people running for president rasing millions of dollars to spend on TV and radio commerials and some print adds.We have a canidate who spends $150,000 on dressing for a republican convention. We have a canidate who dont know how much property he owns. His wife wears over (Quote by herself) $600.000 in clothing so far for campaining. We have a bunch of elected officals in Washington DC that are controled and bought by special interst groups, lobbyist. We have a war in Iraq that has set us back $500 billion dollars and still counting. (yet Iraq is solevent)We have a bail out plan of over 750 billion dollars, that hasnt did a bit of good.We have CEO s of big banks, brokerage houses. and large Corps getting the (rich mans) golden parachutes.Walking away with millions as the small middle class office workers watched there jobs disapear.
We have the auto makers in this country hurting big time people losing there jobs .Yet I read friday IN 2009 WE WILL START IMPORTING MORE CARS FROM CHINA.
We import more than we export, its called free trade.Yet American compaines have to pay tariffis in other countrys.
We have the highest amount of unemployment other than the great depression. We are now losing about 15,000 jobs a week or better.
We have people this past summer that had to choose gas over an extra dozen eggs for there children.Hell you had people in the trucking industry that had to skip a meal to help off set the price they are paying for fuel some had to even skip deadheading home as often .
This administration in Washington DC is by far the worst we ever had.Its time for change. Here is a radical idea. How About A GOVERMENT FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE.THINK ABOUT IT.

I was under the Distinct impression that we have had a Democratically controlled Senate for at least the last two years.

Yes it was, The fact is though there were no veto overrides during those 2 years. Which means the only bills that got through were signed by the Worst President of all time "W".Go figure the republicans had both houses and the White house for 6 years. They sure blew a good chance to show what they could do.

It is now the Democrats time lets hope they do a much better job. They sure can't do any worse.

GO OBAMA!!

The huge amount of breaks to the wealthy and I would say thats people earning 400,000 or more anually, have crippled our nation.

How? Where's your proof?

The economy flourished under the Clinton administration while paying off the defecit.

Who was in charge of Congress when that was happening? If you said Republicans, you're right. If you said conservative Republicans, you're even more right.

Obama can get us back on that track.

Hopefully, the Bolsheviks won't stand in his way, this time. Right? 1917 all over again?

I don't mind paying a little more if it gets the economy moving again like it was before George W. and the Republicans took over in 2000.

Good! You pay. I feel like being one of the lazy ones who will collect the benefit from your hard labor, if he's elected. No sense in working harder, when the harder I work, the more he'll take.

Republicans can argue their side all they want but the fact is the economy did well under Reagan but the defecit skyrocketed then George the 1st took over the economy slowed down a bit but the defecit skyrocketed even more.

Again... who was in charge of Congress? Even Reagan had to deal with them to get what he wanted... same as Bush I and II.

The fiscally responsible Clinton left us in great shape, a growing economy and a sound balance sheet. George W. has bankrupted us.

Clinton? Responsible? HA! Did they stop teaching how the government works? Did you take a nap while Clinton was in office? Do you remember a little something called 'The Contract with America"? You've drunk so much koolaid, that big red pitcher with the smiley face is gonna come thru your wall.

Vote for who you want my absentee ballot is already cast.

Like we could possibly change your mind? Here's a cookie.

Obama will get us back on the right track!

Sorry... but trickle up economics doesn't work. Carter proved that.

Relent, I respected your opinions until you stated that you voted for George W. Bush twice. The first time, ok he fooled alot of people. After 4 years of him, you voted for him again.
Yup - sad to say, I did ..... largely due to a couple of factors, which I may elaborate on later. A mistake to be sure.

I know alot of people did, but I have no use for anyones opinions that voted for George W. Bush twice.
That's fine, I understand - but please understand - the degree to which is there is less communication amongst the citizens of this country is the degree to which our problems will become worse, not better.

You would be better served trying to understand why I voted for him twice (as would I, by trying to understand why you voted for Gore, Kerry, and shortly, for Obama) It is highly likely, were we to get past our support for a particular candidate, and get down to our actual concerns and issues which motivates that support, we would find common ground - afterall we both saw in Perot something that we liked or admired.

This country is now screwed up because of you and people like you.
Uh-huh ....... yeah, well ...... not exactly .... or at least not totally.

Still, I have to take responsibility for my actions - and to do so I have to fully acknowledge (and live with) the fact that I helped to put someone in power, who on the measure, did more harm to the country, than he did good. So, yes: I did that.

And for that, you, and the rest of my fellow citizens, have my profound apologies. I was wrong.

So now I ask you: What is your own culpability for the condition we find ourselves in ?

Thanks for nothing.
Again, you have my sincere apologies.

Bash me if you want, but the United State's problems begin and end with people who voted for him twice.
C'mon Doug - you are surely smarter than that. I don't for a minute believe that this country's problems started with Bill Clinton .... or FDR .... although I think they both contributed to them ..... as did Reagan (a man who I greatly admire) .... by allowing deficit spending when he certainly knew better.

Here's the real deal:

The United States problems didn't start (and certainly won't end) with George W. ...... some of the problems go back to before he was even born ...... let alone holding any political office.

It is entirely too easy (and way, way too simplistic) to fixate on a single individual and blame them for the countries problems ..... or to praise them as the sole source, or point of causation, for what has gone right.

That just ain't the way it works in actuality ...... many have blood on their hands - it ain't an exclusive franchise limited to one party or another, or just certain individuals.

And besides .... blame isn't particularly a real productive way to better a situation .... just doesn't produce alot in the way of bettered conditions. Blame, as an activity, is merely the effort to assign the cause of a condition to another, and deny one's own responsibility.

So Rlent your going to vote still? I hope...
Yes Ken, I'm planning to - no absentee ballot so I'll have to drive back from wherever I wind up on the 2nd or 3rd ...

If many voters cast their vote for an independent or a write in ... Politicians seem fixated on polls and trends, the numbers game IF they were to see this wouldn't it scare the begeevees out of them?
This statement on your part ought to make some here at least blush (if not exhibit some outright shame) .... afterall, as I recall, you aren't even citizen here quite yet ..... and even you get it - what does that tell ya ..... that "Boobus Amercianus" is alive and well here in the heartland I suppose ? :D

Wouldn't it send a serious message that, Hey we the voter aka taxpayer have had enough? If BOTH parties saw that they were losing their EXCLUSIVE power grip...wouldn't that force them back to center?
Not even so much to the center ... as much as giving them the idea that they would actually be held accountable for failing to act in the best interests of the country as a whole .....

That is what we are largely missing at this juncture - acting on behalf of the country as a whole .... instead, it's all self-interest .... and utterly short-sighted self-interest at that .....

Evil is evil...makes no sense to vote for a lesser evil...your still voting evil, hence you agree with evil...only just a tad less...thats ridiculous!!
Indeed ......

OVM... most war-like nations? Nah... we just clean up other countries' messes; or get others out of trouble. Just so happens that the one with the most bux are expected to bring the most toys.

(oh, how I wish the libertarians were a more serious political party)
Oh ..... the irony is just too rich ....

Your desires are obviously for an alternative to what are the (so-called) "viable" choices ...... yet by voting as you have, you (and millions of others like you) ensure that a 3rd party remains "non-serious" ..... and just perpetuate the status quo ....

Consequently you will never get what you seek ....
