" NO EXPEDITORS!"

Has anyone of you come across any truck stops that have "no expeditors" signs?
I came across one in Ft. Wayne In. last week. 1 sign said no expeditors and another said "expedite cargo vans use bull pen". I had no idea what "bull pen" meant and didn't see what might be considered a bull pen.
I know that expeditors get no repect by truckers and now it seems by truck stops too. It seems as though they don't understand that we haul freight just like them, we fuel up, eat, take showers and make other purchaes at truck stops just like big trucks. So what is the deal that we don't rate a place to sleep like big trucks? All I can say is I'm thankful for Walmart, they have been a port in the storm more than once for me.

At FTWTP You get to the "Bull Pen" for expedite vans by entering with the big trucks. It is located right by the fuel island.Front lot is now for cars only.

I suspect All Types had something to do with this move. When you park in the pen you see signs promoting their co.I hear they will have recruters there from time to time.

I dont know why they have not set aside a row for C`s and D,s also.

Interesting. I'll have to be sure and park there if I'm ever really close by and if anyone says anything I'll ask them to identify themselves so I can pass it along to my attorney.

RE:

Why not post the name of said truck stop so other drivers know who and where they are. Maybe we can all stay away from this truck stop! The best way to hurt someone is to get into his or her pockets. By staying away from places like this, they will soon feel it. Maybe leave a note or send them an email telling them, you could have visited them, but choose to go down the road, because of their non-support for EXPEDITERS.

Dose All Type own this service station did they worked out a deal with the owners?

FYI! I am asking this and voicing my own opinion,
Mr. All Type, I have nothing to do with EO, other than, posting on this forum.

Hi i guess the truck stop they are talking about which most everyone knows is the Ft.Wayne travel plaza,At Rt 30- I69 in Ft.Wayne,In. The truck stop years ago was pretty decent,Now it is just a dump,If All types has anything to do with them i'm sure its worse than a dump now...

They cant tell you your not allowed to shop there because of what vehicle you drive are they???? And do the Big Trucks really hate expediters?? I cant see why, we dont compete for the same loads or anything.

Is that the one diagonally across the street from the KW dealer? If so, I stayed there briefly a few months ago and wasn't impressed.

The owners of Fort Wayne Truck plaza have been putting money into the place recently. They have expanded the parking lot and the store.

No doubt they are getting ready for the stiff competition that Fying J will give when their location at I469 and US30 is ready.

Last I heard it was still in the permiting process.

A lot of places simply don't want expedite vans camping out in their regular parking lot with their retail customers. The Detroiter in particular has a special lot for the expedite vans.

I suppose they also don't want the expedite vans taking up a big truck spot. The truck stops make a lot more off of the sale of fuel for a big truck than a van.

I didn't put the name of the truck stop because I didn't know the name but what has been described sounds like the place.
At any other truck stop, I never park in front where customers park, I always try to go way off to the side. I would never think of parking in a big truck space.
I have never heard of All Types. What is that?
As far as big truck dis-respect goes, I have had alot of straight truck drivers tell me about comments made to them over the CB. That why don't don't they get a "real" truck, and how they "think" their driving a big truck.

Make more money off the sale of fuel of the big truks then they do the vans?? Half the trucks that stop in a truck stop dont get fuel they are just there to park, besides truck stops dont make their money off of fuel ( about .03 cents a gallon) its the store items and lottery tickets and all the other BS they sell.

I cannot help but reply. In Charlotte NC on any given morning, you can see every brand of Expediting Co. sitting out there with the doors wide open, people lying inside of a heap of junk and trash. (Pilot)

I was embarrassed to admit I was also an Expeditor. Take some pride people if your gona leave your doors open than clean it up.

Is it any wonder that a truck stop would not want us in there in full view of potential customers?

My above refrence to this forum is these are a place of business and first impresions are important. A family seeing this kind of display is not gona stop there to do business. As much as I wish they would keep going (families) the truck stop has a right to do business with all that have money.

There I said it I may have offeneded some of you but I do not know how someone can live in such dirty conditions, it is a reflection on the industry the signs all look the same wether on a Cargo Van or a Tractor and the public is not gona forget that first impression.

If I ever park there and anyone says anything I may have to do a Superman quick change (I'll go in the bathroom and put on my suit) and come out threatening to sue everybody.
