Haley Gaining Momentum
The 538 website provides a nice, consolidated, ongoing summary of the polls. It shows Haley is gaining momentum.
Nationally, she is about to bump DeSantis out of second place. She is closing the gap in Iowa also. Having been 24 points behind DeSantis in June, she has closed the gap to just 2.7 points. (Or you could say DeSantis has closed the gap with his many shortcomings. The more he campaigns, the less people like him.
In New Hampshire, DeSantis has fallen to a distant, single-digit, fourth place. Now in second place, Haley has narrowed the gap between her and Trump by more than 20 points. Currently, the NH, poll average shows Trump 44.1, Haley 25.7. If you review the NH poll history, you will see Trump's support there recently fell and Haley's support has steadily grown; to the point where she is now just 4 points behind Trump in the most-recent poll conducted.
In South Carolina, Haley's home state, she has decisively bumped DeSantis out of second place, but still lags Trump.
In all Republican primary polls, Trump still holds a commanding lead over Haley and all others. If the polls are accurate and if the primary elections were held today, Trump would win.
Nevertheless, it is interesting to see Haley gaining as she is. If Haley somehow managed to beat Trump in New Hampshire, that would be big news that would prompt a lot of Republican primary voters in other states to give her a deeper look.
