Hiya Tony,
W/ the company I'm now with, Nextel goes hand in hand w/ their service. I've been there a lil over 2 months now & no one's shown me HOW it works w/ em. I'm supposed to be able to do something to just let em know I've delivered w/out having to talk to anyone I guess. Still, I'd rather just talk verbally to dispatch so I don't press em to teach me.
Plus, we get a 9% discount for using Nextel & as some others have mentioned, we don't have Qualcom. It's mainly annoying to lose a call when you're calling a major company (like getting computer help) & have been on the phone w/ em for 15 minutes & ya lose the call. Then ya have to call back & start from scratch. All my friends/family are aware of my service challenges & calling them back isn't that big a deal.
The challenge w/ my cell phone is in part because it's my only phone. Right now I'm looking for a home in the Detroit Metro Airport area. When I get one, I'll have a landline (or internet) phone again. Once I get that, I'll use it for my important calls & anyone I drop on my cell phone will be someone I can just call right back.
Finally, ya have to weigh things out & kind of pick your spots. Relative to how I feel about my brand new vehicle, my cell phone problems are pretty minor. If someone was to say to me "you can pay X amount for cell phone service each month & have service like you get or you can have no cell phone" I'd have the phone.
Be well,
Danny
