New truck and new company

Yesterday I complete orientation with Landstar. I chose to put my new truck on with them so I can do a comparison of them and Panther. I had calls on 3 loads within an hour of being official and available. I pick up in 2 hours and deliver tomorrow in Bayport, MN., just outside St. Paul. My truck is a KW W900 in what they call "light red effect" with a white box. It is number 3034. If you see me say hello so I can connect a face with the username.

Good luck with Landstar. It will be what you make it to be. Straight trucks usually do very well with LEA. I"ll be looking for you, although I am in a van no complaints at present. :) :)

Best of luck LDB. I have friends who have recently started with Landstar. Both D-units. One single and one team. They are happy so far and the loads have paid well. They both say that the "driver friendly" attitude of everyone they've dealt with so far is second to none. I wish they were taking vans.

Leo,

I wish you the very best of luck. Though I have no firsthand experience w/ Landstar, any of their drivers that I talked to are pretty dang happy w/ em. I think you'll do well & best of wishes to ya.

Take care,
Danny

good luck with landstar.if I ever went back to one of the bigger expediters it would be them.Ive been with both panther and landstar before I went on my own. both had plus sides and minus. It seemed like the runs would pay more with landstar but they was stricter on the logs.but then again maybe thats just who you know.I liked the fact that with landstar you can log on to landstar.com and take ltl off the other landstar companies. And at that time panther didnt let you find and book your own loads. But maybe you arent interested in doing that anyway.if I was running a tractor and had to choose I would say landstar would make you more revenue than panthers fixed rate.

But to be honest if you dont mind a little extra paperwork just go with your own authority then you can get loads from both.and be first out everytime.the downside to that is the extra 8 to 10 k you will spend on insurance a year the 300 bucks for permits a year and the cost of your plate you shell out.But if the got the money to get started its much more rewarding to pick and choose

Welcom aboard Leo!

We're in a D unit with Landstar and we're treated like business people not just truck drivers, I don't think I could stand going back to some of the other carriers.

We'll keep an eye out for you on the road, You made a good move!

I'll try and e-mail you with our truck #

It's fun keeping up with the friends you meet by logging onto Landstars site and seeing where each other is, that's cool when you meet up for lunch or coffee.

CONGRATS!
