New To FedEx Custom Critical

Well it’s me again. I wanted to hire a team to run one tractor. I would to pay the team 40 cents a mile for all miles and I will pay everything else. Does this sound like a good deal for the team based on the flatrate program?

Thats 20 cpm each, and the team truck won't run enough miles for you to keep your drivers.my co driver averages 78 cents per loaded miles.Even with thei new flat rate system, your not going to get 5000 miles a week.Almost every truck load company a driver wants to go to,they can average $1000 week running solo, and usually same running team.If you get a H/W team that 40 cents might be ok,but its going to be hard to keep them. I have a friend at US Express, that runs with his wife,.Last year they made over $120000 drivers wages.Thats going to be hard to compete with in expediting.

I must have missed the announcement about 'Ed' taking on the big boys. I gotta do a better job staying on top of this stuff.

The issue is that with 1 yr experience you can make almost .40/mile give or take a couple of cents, and that is with being a regional solar powered driver that is home every weekend. You may be able to get inexperienced drivers at that rate but your truck will be getting parked every few months while you look for new drivers.

Well lets put it this way. After Fuel and tolls I would like to make $700-$1000 profit per truck. The drivers could have the rest and I will pay for the maintenence on the truck from my share. I wouldn't mind paying a high salary as long as I recieve a fair rate of return.

Promise of Greener pastures. Interesting, Smoke and Mirrors makes the Grass look greener on the other side till you get there. When the Air all clears & you find its not at all what the illusion was. A change is in store, might not be able to undo that which was done. But Change the Future to mirror that of which one orginaly left. The time is now.
Mistakes made were a valuable lesson learned. As a door closes ending a chapter another opens.

The going rate is 21% run and DH for the Lead and 20% run and DH for the Co Driver. The OOP pays the fuel and tolls and maintance.
Now that got your attention.

with those percentages, lead driver would make less than 40000 year.Kevin your not on the flat rate system, your truck makes more than the flat rate trucks. And as I stated,my co driver makes 25%.he made 42000 and we only worked 38 weeks. He averaged 36cpm loaded and empty, all miles.
