Hello everyone. I;m new to this. I use to contract for fedex ground. Then i sold it. now i;m interested in becomeing a solo expedited owner operator. But since we just had a new baby.I wonder if i can do this kind of work just running in the midwest staying out 3to 4 nights out of the week? Thanks

Most of us don't run like that, but it can be done. You have to get with the right company. Ceva would be one example. A call to companies located around the major airport in your area would be a good way to start.

what kind of truck?
o/o or drive for someone?
how much were you making with ground? just wondering what you need to earn to support the new mouth to feed and cloth and dress and put thru school.

not to rain on your desire but 3-4 nites a week and then home to help with the baby will not make you much to make this worthwhile. like star said call ceva. they may be the fit you want. another company is a franchise called straight shot express. it is mostly out and back not point to point to point to point etc like most of us are doing.

if you want to do this part time, hope you live in Chicago. There is no way your going to work 3 or 4 days a week in expedite and make what your were in Ground.
Think this thread is in wrong place, should be in newbies.
