I don't recall any problems with the Garmin in NY  though it does go nuts in Laredo sometimes.

I agree Greg in no way did we ever feel threatened by this guy nor did we in the way he approached the truck. If we had been to afraid to talk to him we would have missed out on a lot of history of that part of the city.

He was a professional at his job and he was good at it.
He gave fantastic directions and he also knew the city and fun sites to look for with even a little background of each site.

We did not get off at that exit due to the signs we got off at that exit as we had missed our turn. We know the signs in that area.

Delivered in Jamaica one time, and like idiots, took Atlantic back to 278.:eek::eek:
If you were to have need of an ambulance forget it. We watched an ambulance try to negotiate the traffic and there was absolutely no place for this vehicle to go. I just can't imagine living in a place like that.

It would certainly be all about how they approach the truck. If someone jumped up on my truck in traffic, I just might feel threatened and open the door to knock him off, without regard to whether he was injured or not. That's threatening behavior.

I went to Brooklyn a few weeks ago and my c330 did a great job getting me where I had to go. It even kept me on the truck route.

It was new to me Greg, I have taken that route several times in the last few months and this was the first time we ever ran into this problem. I will say, after this week I am tired of working NYC and will be happy to watch it receed on Monday. Got a load from JFK to Buffalo, then it's off t the house. Layoutshooter

I am aware of that to be sure. I somehow don't think that will work. Besides, then I would have to spend hours cleaning the goo off my wheels. Layoutshooter

They do not JUMP ON YOUR TRUCK....

When we were approached the guy stayed well away from our truck until invited to come closer. He was a professional in what he is doing and he in no way acted threatening. He was very careful with his behavior and in many ways if all of us would be as professional at our jobs as he was with his the view of our industry would improve.

You are correct, many are just guys trying to earn a living. If there was a way to insure that many would feel better about it. These days, however, many working these "jobs" are not just out to earn a living and might not have your best interest in mind. Layoutshooter

Sorry but it’s very naïve of you to have let this guy get close to your truck I am from New England this is a well known scam. Over the years several drivers have been injured and killed by those professionals you are talking about. Most of the ones that were attacked were the ones that didn’t want to pay, many of those scammers get very angry when they see that they aren’t going to get paid.
