I apologize to everyone for the following; I feel I have to defend myself. I don’t know maybe it is cynicism?
Julie, get real and stop beating up on me.
You seem to have some gripe about things I say and don’t know when I am kidding or not so I can say this;

If you knew what kind of hell I went through for others, you would not ever say a word. I am just rebuilding my life after getting the **** kicked out of me by my former employer all because I would not tolerate people being harassed and discriminated against, a two year fight that almost killed me. I was one of the few in a really large company where they espouses diversity and equality, where I actually took those ideals to heart and stood up to the mid-management to stop the harassment and discrimination of people on my teams. I used my knowledge to work the system to help those victims but killed my career in doing so and where I ended up giving everything that I valued away just to make it through a serious lawsuit and three years of unemployment and flat busted broke.
What I have now from all the crap amazingly makes me feel good about myself because I can say I did something with my life other than sit back and enjoy the benefits of life at a big company if I looked the other way. I have less stuff, I have more memories and I have a stronger desire to succeed and help others.
So here is why you don’t get it
I drive a truck as a means to get out of what was handed to me and driving a truck is not the worst things I have done. I may or may not make this a career, who knows. But without hesitation, this is where I am at right now and I don’t blame anyone. Unlike you I can not depend on others to get me a job or help me back up, I have to do it all by my lonesome. The people who I call friends then and now, the ones at GM, Ford and other places, I would not ask or would allow to help me so if there is a backlash, it won’t affect them. If you don’t get that, think McCarthyism and blacklisting. I talk to them, I get information from them but that is about it.
Maybe one day I can stay at the Ritz over looking Central Park again instead of my sleeper over looking the dumpster, even though I prefer my sleeper.
I would venture to guess you would not risk a thing to help others and be like others at the company who looked the other way. You could not even come close to surviving in that situation for a week let alone two years by what your intolerant words shown.

Think again and read what I write and take some of it with some humor.
I don’t ‘flaunt’ my knowledge; I try hard not to look down upon anyone for any reason and actually admire a lot of people here and wish I could do some things that they do. But on the other hand I want people to learn, I want them to understand things that may not make sense to them AND I don’t want people to fall into the trap that just because it worked for one means it will work for another, diverse opinion means a lot. I am not the perfect person in explaining things on the fly, I write things and have to think about them before hand but at least I try to share my knowledge. AND if I see something wrong, I say something.
I don’t look for specific people’s posts but for some reason it seems to be a case where I follow Phil’s post with my comments, it happens but not all the time. I find that he has some really great information, I still print off his article on expediting and hand them out when needed, reference some of his writing for others to read but there are times I comment on things he says because we have a differing opinion about the subject, he may be right or I may be, big deal, who knows or who cares! If he is insulted, well he is a big boy and can tell me that himself and I will try to watch myself better but it is he, not you who needs to speak up.
And if you take my signature line seriously, you need a sense of humor; “Sort of independent wealthy - I followed the Million Dollar plan” is based on a commercial selling a plan to make a million dollars in real-estate what was placed in the middle of financial news report about the housing market crash, ironic to say the least. So I put my sarcastic signature line up because of that commercial during the news. I never explained it until now.
I think if you would get past the hate Greg thing, you could be a great contributor to EO which I would really like to see instead.
Oh, Julie, if you want to beat me up more, just PM me instead of putting people through an endless number of beat up Greg posts.

You know I would normally agree with you but outside of what Steve said after the first couple sentences, I am taking it personal for some reason.
I still have a vested interest in FedEx, my family holds stock in the company, as we hold stock in other companies, not very much but it is enough to be concern with and want to see it grow. I have said, and always said that I want FedEx to prosper but now I hope not in competition with my present company for obvious reasons and know that will be the case in the future.
I am truly sorry, truly sorry that I don’t meet your requirements needed to be critical of things I see that affect the operation of company or affect others (contractors) at FedEx and post said things during my post FedEx career. It seems that my suggestions and unashamed criticism about FedEx is accepted at FedEx without hesitation with good feed back from everyone but Custom Critical, since I have left. For some reason I have yet to hear from CC on any thing I have said on my ideas on how to improve service, odd or is something up with that?
Also I am truly sorry, truly sorry that I seem all too negative; out of shear habit I look for and talk about negatives to form positive solutions; sometimes even in the minds of others these solutions are formed because of my comments. If life were all positive, we would be bored to death.
But with that said, I don’t know if your comments are pointed at me or not, if they are not, ignore me but the thing is that you can not tell me what I can talk about, nor should ever make the suggestion or wish for it. I worked for the company, I have the privilege to complain about what I want to if it betters them or warns others of a problem that they may have in the future that I had. Discounted rates are one thing that is open for discussion because it affects everyone, you may not see these rates, but others do and a lot have left because of it.
As for WG, I said what I said in jest but the truth is, if there are changes, I don’t really care what happens to them. I think that the mistake that FedEx made was allowing inexperienced people join WG and just bend the rules in order to get people into the group. If I or anyone else has to wait 6 months, then everyone should.
