You can't go wrong with Jon Mosier at FL Knoxville. They advertise on here so you can get their number. Good luck.

Have to agree with Leo and Dave, give Jon a call. We bought our 1st truck from him and when we were ready to trade that on a new one, we went right back to Jon. He was a great help to us on both purchases.

We had a different experience with Jon Mosier as first time truck buyers. We found that Middle Georgia worked with us the best. First time truck buyers have a little rougher time I believe whit the dealers as you are not sure what you are doing. We found most dealers didn't really want to give us the time of day when we mentioned the dreaded word first time truck buyer. Wes, at Middle Georgia didn't even flinch. So our suggestion would be to give them a call and they also advertise on here and will also be at MATS. MATS is also a great place to see almost every dealer under the sun and compare each and everyone of their trucks and their salesmen.

I always talked to Brandy at Knokville Freightliner. I called two weeks ago and was informed she is no longer working there. At this point I was transfreed to Jon. Jon never answered so I left a message for him to call me. It has now been two weeks with no return call. Now back to the square one where to go for sales and service?

Knowing where you are located and the model you prefer would help but if you are considering a 2007 model any dealer should bend over backwards to move one .

Brandy is out having a baby and Jon is attempting to do the work of two. Some things fall through the cracks when you try that. He can be tough to reach sometimes but through 2 separate deals he was totally honest. That's more than I can say for others I attempted to work with.

When we bought our 1st truck, we were a first time buyer and Jon was very helpful to us and still is.

When we were ready to trade in our 1st truck, we called Middle Georgia and told them we would like to take a ride down on a Saturday to talk about trading our truck in for a new one. (We saw one of their trucks and liked the way it was set up). Jim told them, if they gave us a decent trade in on ours, we would definitely start the paperwork that day to buy. The sales rep we talked to said that they did not work Saturdays. Needless to say, they did not get our business. But when we called Jon, he was more than happy to be there on a Saturday to talk with us. (And he normally does not work on
Saturday's either) Needless to say, we bought our truck from Freightliner of Knoxville and are very happy with it.

I suspect everyone has their favorite sales person and you are going to get lots of suggestions. We bought our Freightliner truck at Middle Georgia and would certainly go back there for the next one. I saw the note about them not working on Saturday but the thing is- this is a small, family owned operation. They will take all the time you need and will follow up with you. We loved the "down home" atmosphere at Middle Georgia. They know the business and they will take all the time you need. We didn't even have our CDL's yet when we first went in to talk with them. They took the time to show us all the options and there was NO pressure about buying. I highly recommend them! Good luck with your new venture.

We bought our first truck, used, from Middle Georgia and then a new one from Knoxville. We got decent deals from both of them, but I wasn't impressed with the dealer prep at either place. We spent all day at Middle Georgia getting wiring and lights fixed, and had to stay overnight and half the next day at Knoxville when the bunk heater didn't work and the Pro Heat heater didn't work, either.

Our determining factor was the trucks. We prefered the Sterling over the M-2 since it seems to be a little heavier duty, and we just preferred the height and size of it. Whether you like the Sterling or the M-2 be careful about Mercedes engine. The maintenance costs are horrendous. $75 in filters every time, no one has the centrifuge filter except the dealers. You should buy the star wrench for the oil pan plug and now we discovered we should also carry the 36mm socket to remove the lids of the filter housings! We've heard horror stories about getting the oil pan plug stripped out by using the wrong tool. Last week we stopped at Petro and TA to get a service done and neither night crew had a 36mm socket to remove the tops of the filters! The "real" mechanics only work days and their tools were locked up!! So we now have our own filters, the star wrench, and 36mm socket, and they will knock $10 off the price. What a deal.

We have had really bad experiences with the service dept. at Knoxville. Our only late delivery was because Knoxville took over 8 hrs. to replace an alternator under warranty. We've stopped in various times for minor repairs and they're always too busy to get to it. The last time we darkened their door was to check on a service and were told "Not only no, but F*** no." Lesson learned. If they don't want to accomodate their buyers, I guess they'll not be getting any return business from us. Maybe we'll be buying at Ft. Wayne next time.

Avoid Alumi-Bunk like the plague!!! Bought my first truck from there and got nothing but headaches, I am talking absolute horror story. I would suggest calling Dan Roberts at Fyda Freightliner. Great guy. Willing to bend over backwards for the customer. He is extremely patient and knowledgeable as well. Good luck.
