New Panther Sign-on Bonus!

Big companies operate on a much different playing field than a small carrier. That can be good or bad depending on what the expectations are.

In the case of Panther, I know very little about their recruiting. No real need to. Last I heard, this bonus thing was if you were new and leasing a truck from them. I also believe those trucks run at a reduced rate verses current trucks in the fleet.
There are smaller bonuses for someone that already owns a truck and putting it on but I am clueless as to the amounts.
I could be wrong as things always change, so one would have to call to find out the details unless someone posts it here.

Papa Bruno sounds like a smart cookie.:p

My family has been in trucking almost 100 years. I'm a fourth generation driver. My Father was in the business over 35 years. I learned a lot from him and my uncles. My grandmother had nine kids and eight of the nine was a driver at one one in their life.

Bruno: The sign-on bonus is the same for every straight truck and tractor that is signed on with Panther. This includes trucks added by current fleet owners.

greg334: The reason that we have a bonus for the FAST Card is that Canada is one of our targeted growth verticals for 2011.

If there are any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks everyone!

J.D. you don't understand. Targeted growth verticals are a value added matrix in the reverse supply chain. A man in your position should really keep up with this stuff.

I got a call a couple weeks by Panther wondering if I wanted to be fast approved that they would pay for everything to get it. I really have no interest into going into Canada. I guess they have alot of freight moving across the border but I got no clue?

Also along with the bonus they advertised new pay rate for team including cargo van. Cargo van was .97 including fsc.

I'm just guessing that a carrier would like a driver to have a FAST card whether or not they are shipping FAST loads or not. Just the peace of mind knowing that there "shouldn't" be a problem with the driver crossing or being grilled is well worth the $50 for 5 yrs.
I got it on my own dime. Best money I ever spent.

You'll need that extra money to offset your medical insurance deductible should you get a massive MERCA infection at one of the "secondary" doctors offices. Wasn't it the ancient greeks that invented sterilization of instruments? I said Greeks no Geeks LOL
