I found this guy in our driveway, no mother in sight, and he was very weak and sick, maybe a month old tops, and we've been bottle feeding him because he doesn't seem to know what to do with solid food yet. If he's going to stick around, he's going to have to pull his weight, so I'm contemplating what his job is going to be. I've narrowed it down to safety and compliance, recruiting and sales, dispatch, or designated lap warmer. He is showing a natural aptitude for the latter, so that will probably be his job until we can get him trained on the system.

Have you considered assigning that new Team Member the role of Rodent control, when it's old enough of course?

Our Security Chief says this one looks like a good choice for this position. Miss Mabel has been on duty in our truck for 10 years & not one dog has tried to steal it!

Well, the little guy gave up the ghost this morning, sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 am. At 6:00 I heard him meowing and I went over and he was sitting outside the litter box where he had just done his business. I picked him up and held him until he calmed down and then put him back in his bed. I woke up at 7:00 and he had passed in his sleep.

I'm not sure what did him in. He was eating more and getting more active each day and then he just expired in his sleep. I take some comfort in knowing that we gave him a much better life for the last week than he would have had if we hadn't found him, but it doesn't make it any easier. He had grown quite attached to me, and me to him. This is a rough day.

I'm so sorry! It is never to lose a furry friend no matter how long they have been a part of our family.

I am so sorry for your loss. It doesn't take long for them to crawl into your heart. He was loved and wanted for his short time with you and that is all any of us can ask.
