Things I have noticed about ice over the years.....it melts...LOL

Keep the ICE in the bag it came with IF you can...it lasts almost twice as long as taking it out and spreading it around thus letting the air circulate around it thus melting it faster....

IF you can find them and it is rare...a solid block of ice will last for days!! When at home try making some solid blocks in your freezer and then bring them along....

Keep it off the sprinter floor between the seats....it is HOT down there from engine heat...I have a 1/2 thick pink slab of foam for the cooler to sit on...making longer ice time...

and of course keep the cooler out of direct sunlight....

It applies to all Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers, but not to drivers that drive vehicles that are under 10,001GVW, unless they carry HazMat, carry certain number of passengers, drive combination vehicles, haul only intrastate, or are from Canada! :D

Bus drivers that haul 16 or more, or haul for hire 9 or more. High Security is a different problem. BTW, the NSA is monitoring your phone calls & emails. The word "security" probably just flagged us all...

The actual regulation spells it out pretty clearly. The part I was surprised a bit to see was "if the GVW, OR ACTUAL WEIGHT, is over 10,000 lbs., WHICHEVER IS GREATER. Meaning those vehicles with a GVW less than 10,001 ARE ACTUALLY SUBJECT TO ALL CMV REGULATIONS if their actual weight is over 10,000 lbs, despite folklore to the contrary, assuming the cop that pulls you over knows the distinction / regulation.

Yeah, the "all drivers" applies only to those drivers over whom the FMCSA has authority.

Ask Dennis about that. He knows. :D

The FMCSA regulates heavy trucks and buses (and vehicles carrying Hazardous Materials) to mitigate the risk to the general public. It's all about the weight of the vehicle, not the weight rating. If you're over 10,000 pounds then you pose a significant risk to the public, regardless of your weight rating.

Your vehicle has now many sides?

  • a. 4
  • b. 5
  • c. 6
  • d. 8

The correct answer, according to the dictionary (the lateral surfaces of an object as opposed to the front, back, top or bottom), is 2, which of course isn't one of the options.

So, we have an adventure and are left to our imaginations as to how additional surfaces and boundaries of a vehicle can be construed.

If we count the two sides along with the front and back, the answer is, of course, 4.

If we include the front, back, top and bottom, along with the 2 sides, the answer would be 6.

If we add to that 6 both the inside and the outside, it's 8.

5 cannot be correct unless you drive a Black triangle, or a pentagon in Flat Land.

I'm going to go with 6. Let's see that happens...

Unbelievably, that's the right answer.
