You see I am questioning every thing American..I am NOT bashing anyone nor poking fun. That would be reprehensible.

I am now one of you's and trying to understand U.S. issues from a workers point of view instead of a visitors. I've now inherited a whole new can of worms your problems are now my problems...before I go off on a tangent and e-mail my Senator or Rep I'd at least like to think I know of something of which I speak.
If I throw out something for debate or discussion it's just my curiousity and wanting knowledge.
I'am as greg and leo and hawk would say being assimulating into American culture!.

First off there is nothing wrong with questioning, discussing or even criticizing something you don’t understand or want to learn about. As I told a relative from Croatia who came here a couple years ago don’t hesitate to ask or even complain about something, it triggers discussion. Many people can’t get the concept that people even from Canada are not exposed to the different cultures in the US, and they think that it is all bashing – wrong.

I would say your approach is good, and I commend you for the effort but I only wish some of the natural born citizens would at least take the time to learn something about our country. I ran into two girls who had peace signs tattooed on their arms and reminded me of Dumb and Dumber - no other way to describe their level of existence. Not going to speak of the tattoos but the conversation I had with them was just utterly amazing. These two girls graduated from public school and one even at the top of her class three years ago (yep saw the picture) but my God after a couple hours of talking to them, they kept on talking to me and followed me around, I found it sad that they were so amazd at my knowledge. I came to the conclusion that we are actually doomed as a country if anyone like them gets into a leadership position - Paris Hilton seems to know more.

Well here are the highlights of what they were taught or think – I am not making this up by the means

• Bush should have not declared war against Vietnam
• Before there was Carter, there was a president name JFK (they honestly could not tell me what JFK stood for and they didn’t really know that there were other presidents before JFK because carter is almost 110 years old)
• George Washington established Washington state and owned a million slaves
• We stole the land from the Indians, we shipped them all to India
• Jefferson is the guy on “that coinâ€
• Mexico should remain a state
• The Mexicans need to stay because no one knows how to cut grass
