I was taking care of paper work on my on my van and since I would be picking it up Wednesday. I went in town and I past a car lot which had out front on a display was a passenger van and it caught my eye, it was the new ford and it wasn't the high top, just reg long passenger and it was a sharp looking van. If I had time I would have stopped and got pics, next time thru I will if it's still there, if that in a cargo has that length and ht, it will be on top of my wish list. Really nice from the view I had.

And I wasn't the new connect either way to long. If it wasn't the transit then I don't know maybe custom, will try to find out and get back with info, don't want to jump the gun here.

They have not yet started building the new Ford Transit cargo van. In fact, they are currently retooling the Kansas City assembly plant for its production. Last time I was in KC, I drove up to Claycomo and drove all over the facility and there were none anywhere back in early December. It was originally announced for 2013, then delayed and called the 2014 Transit.. and now the 2015 transit. There was a 'mock up' at the Expediter's Expo last July in Wilmington, brought there by an Ohio Ford dealer.. although the hood release was locked. The new 2015 Transit will offer a handful of engine options, including the 3.5L twin turbo EcoBoost & an inline 5 cylinder diesel. Together with the new Dodge Promaster, Ford will help to blow away the Sprinter market, offering three different lengths and three different heights. Yes, the 2019 full size Transit is going to be quite some van once it finally arrives.

It was the new xlt something like that extra long connect I saw? And it was long, long as a full size. Still nice looking.

I hope Transit will arrive by the end of this year or so. When I was making a delivery to Claycomo, MO. (Transit Plant) earlier this year, I have seen few of them...

They are making them at claycomo but only enough to go to the Michigan testing facility. You can see them at cc.

If the transit is everything they say it's going to be, sprinter and promaster will need changes to be more appealing to some customers.

I'm waiting on the ford, so far in like what I see and hear. When I can touch it and take it for a spin I'll really know.

The short wheel base kills it for me just like with the E-Series now. Lift drivers never wanna take the time to move the skid in front of the axel. So the extended wheel base makes things easier, one point for the sprinter/promaster IMO

I never had a problem with a 2002 Ford E 350 ext. I kept a 2x4 along side the wall. When the fork lift operator ask's okay there, I put the 2x4 against the skid and ask to push it forward a couple of feet.

I would not go out a buy one until three year's after they come out. They're having way to many problem's just getting them produced.

Same thing here except I attached a 16 ga. steel sheet to one flat side of the 2 x 4 so the lift operators would not be able to split it with their forks

Ditto. When required, I pull out my 2 2x8 boards for pushing. Or, like Thursday, to pry under and walk the crate back out to the edge to squeeze back out. It's amazing how tight a crate that is truly 49x48x48.75 is going in and out of an Express. At 48 wide, 48.75 tall leaves NO room to lift. Forks under, then strap the skid to the lift and pull. AAAAYYYYYEEEEE!!!!
