Hi all,

I just opened an expediting company. I live near Chicago (ORD). I am looking to buy a cargo van for now. If any recruiters or anyone else are looking for a person to run freight via cargo van out of Chicago please private message me.

I am also looking to get my own authority soon. Just finalizing all other paperwork in the next few days.

Anyone interested please pm. I am a very determined individual to succeed. I'm currently in the freight industry myself.

Just curious but how did you just start an expedite company with no equipment and no authority? It isn't as easy as that. Also rectifiers do not broker freight brokers do. Also you will need your authority,equipment and insurance before you can haul freight. As stated before brokers like to deal with established companies as opposed to a fly by night company (not saying you are but brokers don't know if you are or not with no history).

Welcome to eo by the way. Do some research and you could do ok.

Bigcat, as I stated i'm in the freight industry right now. I decided to start a company because I can see potential in this business. I also like this industry which is why I decided to go with a company (after doing a lot of research).

I know brokers are looking for established companies. Makes sense. I will be getting a van soon and authority as well. That is why I put out the post, to see if anyone needed a person out of Chicago with a cargo van.

Nonetheless, I'm striving to be the best and hopefully land a deal soon with a broker. Every company needs to start somewhere, so hopefully things will do good for me.

While letting your authority age. sign with a local company. Not sure if American Expediting has an office in your area but if they do, check with them. My contract allows me to haul for other companies so the door is open to getting customers of your own during that time.

Just don't take american expeditings customers if your signed with them. Not only is that bad business, it can get you in to legal troubles.

Thanks for the advice cableguy. Yes, they do have a location in Chicago pretty close to where I live so its convenient. I will have to get in contact with them.

Of course, the last thing any business or person needs is legal trouble.

Not sure if I get a spiff for referring you. If I do, driver number is 12270..
