Hello I am in need of some information for and aux generator, first of all i am going on the second fuel pump in 3months and sometimes when i try to start the generator i have to push the stater switch multiple times and the generator will fire right up so i figured there was a problem with the switch so i pulled the panel in the sleeper down thinking i would get a number off the switch and cross ref it and replace it, well no number on switch and i noticed that two wires were not hooked up and I was at a frieght shaker shop and i tried to get some info and they said i would have to contact the people that made the gen but i cannot get any info. any help will be greatly helpfull. thank you:cool:

Aux has been out of business for a while. A couple of years ago I was looking at a truck that had one. Davekc suggested I contact Bobby Snyder at Fyda in Columbus. He knows a guy that sells parts for them. Another place to contact would be Alumibunk.

Having been an unfortunate former owner of one of these "boat anchors" er I mean aux generators,I can shed some light on why there are a couple of wires not connected.

This was originally planned to be a 3 speed fan setup but due to electrical problems with the sleeper switch panel (wires and connectors overheating and melting) it was cut back to either a 1 or a 2 speed setup.

Those switch panels are still available through the sleeper manufacturer, but a new one won't solve any of the problems that you are having with this unit.

I would advise you not to waste any money at all in an attempt to make this unit serviceable as it will only continue to have problems.Besides that they are unsafe.

Thanks for the info Doggie Daddy but the fan speed is still 3speed and works on all 3 postions. I contacted alumibunk and they say there is no wiring diagram available and might be lucky to find a tech at a freightliner dealership that can work on one. I installed a toggle switch on the gen so that I can turn it off if it wont shutdown by the sleeper switch. the two wires that are not connected is a white wire and the other is a red wire

Derby, you might try giving Bill Moore at TSI Western Star in North Jackson,Ohio a call.

I had my Aux generator worked on there a couple of times,he has some really good mechanics and usually can handle any problem you might have. Good luck.
